Read This! Club Circa

Here's an interesting and LONG article a friend sent me about the club, the owner and the plans for Toronto. An interesting read - I'll hold judgement until they open the doors...

I didn't read the WHOLE article but that place sounds pretty intense...certainly interesting and I would love to check it out regardless

Junior Vasquez as a resident? interesting.
The whole thing sounds ridiculous imo...sounds more like an art gallery if anything.

As much as he wants to change Toronto's night life, it will never be like New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, London, Tokyo and the likes.

Never sir! Not in many years!

What's wrong with Junior Vasquez?

as much as you think the night life of those cities is light years above toronto's; its not. Ours stacks up fairly well against the so-called "world class" clubbing cities.

Yup, Toronto rocks.

Posted by starsearcher on Apr-20-2006 18:43:

I've been to NY many times I can't really say their night life is that much better than ours, and I don't see nearly as much talent going to Moscow than coming here...if anything we get more

i didn't say they are "light years" above toronto's. i dunno why would you take something, twist it, and give me a totally different reply. all i was saying is that toronto's nightlife will never be like the cities that i mentioned. but never say never i guess, anything can happen in this world.

but if you would have been to cities such as Moscow/London, you'd know what i'm talking about.

i think once sonic and circa both open, toronto nightlife will reach its peak by years end....

with guv, TiL, the docks.... lots of options for this city

I guess I interpreted the "Toronto will never be like those cities" that way; as if those cities are at some unreachable level of clubbing. Literally, of course it'll never be like those cities. We're unique in our own way. But in terms of quality and variety offered, Toronto definately delivers.

And I have been to London, so I know what you're talking about.

do you live in Moscow or have you been there on a regular basis to make such a judgment?

i'm making my judgment b/c i live here and i spend at least a month or two per year in Moscow. Moscow is on another level in terms of nightlife entertainment. I wasn't talking about talent coming anywhere. It doesn't mean that if tiestos and armins come to toronto more, that toronto has a better nightlife. Besides, there are so many dj's that come to Moscow that you don't hear about here because they are more popular in Europe and they don't come to North America for their own reasons. Such as Menno De Jong, Vadim Zhukov, Marc Van Linden, and even dj's such as David Guetta who spin in Moscow almost every other month. Bottom line, it's not how many dj's come to the city that makes a city better at nightlife entertainment, it's just a very small part of the equation. It's the PEOPLE that make a difference. And i can make this judgment b/c I've partied in both cities. But i also like toronto's nightlife, i have nothing against it. It's better than most cities i've partied at. I'm just not the biggest fan of Toronto's crowd sometimes that's all.
