Circumcision should be outlawed

Why must men suffer due to conventions?

circumsision is regarded as a healthy, standard procedure in Israel so much so that most families here don't even consider an alternative, don't even give it a second thought; Just child mutilation by default.

I just heard of a case that occured here in which a man sued his parents for mutilating him and taking away his dignity as a person and as a creation of god (for he believes circumcision is interference with god's work); The case was shortly dismissed by the judge, who said the prosecutor is out of his mind or something to that effect.

It's just awful. :/


Why is it still legal to mutilate children without their consent?

Dude, I really don't understand why (and didn't even know until more recently that) some people have such contempt for cirumsision. What gives?

it's a sacrifice of function for form, and while as you may see in my custom status, i (and others) love the appearance of my penis, i'd much rather have my forskin intact.

i would assume the fact a heartache is a medical problem (unlike having a forskin) would have an influence on that decision...

yeah i'm very against the mutilation of children for aesthetic reasons, and even moreso if its for some fanatic religious cause. this issue was mentioned in a thread previously, and someone posted a link to the health problems associated with circumcision which were many.

highly doubtful considering this is israel, and the only reason he is 'out of his mind' in the judge's view is probably because there's some verses in the torah that commands jews to preform circumcisions (which would be 'slightly' idiotic considering we were supposedly made the way we were by god).

Now, if your'e getting circumcised at 25, that may be a different story, but I doubt any 25 year old's parents are pulling the strings at that age.

Ok, let's take a poll. If you are a male with a circumcised dick...do you even remember anything at all about the event? Hell, for that matter, do you remember anything prior to age 2? I'll stick my dick out on the line and say nope, I don't remember and don't fucking care. My dick is clean, thank you.

Now what about the time I bit a hole through my tongue and they strapped me down in a straight jacket so they could sew the hole up while I was completely conscious? Talk about uneccessary cruelty!

See, this is why that is the 'dumbest reply ever' - you misinterpreted the whole thing to mean this is about the pain you feel for a week when you go through the actual circumcision. Comparable to someone complaining about the weather on the day of his execution.

Most surveys show woman prefer a circumsised penis, American woman that is...and since i live in America i am happy i am circumsised. That extra skin is just plain foul.gross.disgusting. Carry on.

most people who replied to the surveys that were held for the show i watched said they either circumcised their children by default, or out of fear the child will suffer mockery or will be an outcast as a result of not being circumcised.

it only presumes that science is right in saying (that roughly) the relavant pleasure originates in the nerve endings of the penis.

i suppose you havent read the link i posted, which states something most sexologists would confirm - the forskin has the most nerve endings compared to all other points on the penis' skin.

all the people i have met and those who were interviewed who had a circumcision at a later point in life (e.g. age 17) complained they experience far less pleasure.


and just for the record, i claim to experience less pleasure as a circumcised man, not more as a noncircumcised man.

dunno man...i am circumsised and can say if i expereinced any more pleasure from sex i would probally drop dead....but eh thats me

i'm just working with the info from the show: it seems that getting circumcised by itself doesnt change your status, but getting circumcised is a requirement you have to fulfil in order to 'be' a jew.

This was a heated mega-paged argument a year or so ago. In the end neither side changed how they percieved things.

If you're parents want you circumsized, you're circumsized, if they don't, you're not. End of story. It REALLY doesn't matter.
