i looked at the website and didn't see the words "free" nor "enter your credit card here"

adsense is absolutely free (actually, it's one of the sources of income too, since you are paid whenever someone clicks on the banners on your site).

adsense for search (where you insert adsense banners in results of you search engine on you website) is not free, but is also pays you for every click visitors make.
