Things you would do or buy if you were FILTHY GODDAMN RICH

So you just won a billion dollars. What do you buy, and what do you do? Be as selfish as you want, none of this charity bullshit, because that isn't what this is about.

Here's what I would buy:

• A house in Cambridge
  
• A house in Windsor
  
• A house in Santa Monica, California
  
• A place of some sort in Monaco
  
• A place in Amsterdam
  
• A house on Texel, NL, near my aunts and uncles and junk
  
• 1 Rolls Royce Phantom for cruising
  
• 1 Lotus Sport Exige for tracking
  
• 1 Ariel Atom for nearly dying in every time I'd drive it
  
• 1 Maybach S62 for when I'm feeling saucy and in need of chauffering
  
• 1 Mini Cooper S JCW Convertible
  
• A huge plot of land here in Cambridge on which to build my own racetrack and garage paddock
  
• A fleet of 8 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradales with which to do battle with my friends each and every weekend
  
• A Wallypower 118 yacht
  

• Invest whatever I don't spend initially
  
• Buy a nice new Mercedes S-Class and go to a really busy intersection in downtown Toronto one busy summer afternoon in a traffic jam, then get out and start smashing the car with a hammer while yelling "OH GOD WHAT AM I DOING *smash* OH NO NO SERIOUSLY SOMEBODY STOP ME OH THE HORROR" and then, when my helicopter comes to pick me up, it will engulf the area entirely in smoke and I'll make my getaway while the helicopter, on its attached PA system, blares Wagner's "Ride of The Valkyries"
  
• Hire Jeremy Clarkson to follow me around and ramble nonsensically about things
  
• Hire George Carlin to rant about things on command while swearing every 3rd or 4th word (no change from his usual routine, really)
  
• Throw a ridiculous party every weekend at one of my houses, free everything for guests
  
• uhhhh some other stuff here
  

my doctorate :P


and a lear jet
and my parents house, so they never sell it
and a few islands..some up north, some down south
and all the typical stuff for all my 23432497 family members and best friends

To Buy

• A new Apartment in downtown London. Two levels with a hell of a view.
  
• A new Apartment in downtown Toronto. Same as above, but with no less than three extra bedrooms. Hooray for crash pads.
  
• The new Apple featuring Intel Chips. TEN of them. And once They come in Notebook form, FIVE of those.
  
• A studio space in my swank London apartment so retardedly nice that Paisley Park would be impressed.
  
• A 1992 Honda Prelude S, and fully restore it. Because I miss my Baby oh-so-much.
  

• Much like Cale, I'd invest. That way I could keep doing this over and over again.
  
• I would travel. Lots. Spain, Portugal, Italy, Holland, Germany, Finland, Norway.. You name it.
  
• Never worry again.
  

I would set up my mom with whatever she wants.


THEN...

GO crazy with a house ( houses)
Trips
Trips
Sprees of whatever
Cars
Open up my own soccer school, or just start my own team.
Buy a team?
--Wow the list could go on forever.

I wouldn't need cars or houses.

I'd buy a nice sailing boat and cruise the world, anchoring near party islands such as Ibiza, while managing my investments via satellite internet.

I highly doubt you can do that in a nice sailing boat I think you'll need one of those massive yachts

What I'd buy:
Private island in the south pacific
Private jet
The Maple leafs and make them the Oilers farm team.

What I'd do:
Sit on my ass and love the fact I would never have to work another day in my life.
