New guy here. progressive and melodic trance inside!

Hey guys, im new to the site, let me introduce myself first

im DJ Sea. my real name is Matthew Seagrave and believe it or not i am only 16 years old and have been making trance music since i was just 9 years of age..

despite my age, people say i create great music, which according to the people i give my music to, is on par with most professional artists and producers. i DJ part time for a local club, mostly for under 18 gigs. (and sometimes over 18 ) my largest gig ive DJed for was a warehouse gig. i DJed for 2 hours in front of a crowd of about 1000! madness!! the gig was set up by my mate. and included people of all ages. it was great!

i have the mental "gift" synesthesia. which is a condition that fuses one or more senses into the same one,(its also a song by the thrillseekers :P ) my sense of sound and vision are fused so that i see colours and shapes when i listen to music. this is one of my influences in music creation. more info on synesthesia can be found here: http://web.mit.edu/synesthesia/www/

To make music i use Reason and ableton live 5. a big hello to all you reason users! were a great breed

i currently have an album selling on iTunes. and have made enough money from it to set up my own record label. i am soon to get 500 CD's pressed and sold through the HMV music and media store over the next few months. so all is going well so far.

Now time for the music:

nice work, kid
keep striving
make sure you explore all music, not just the fad around you at your young age. i am an old man, and too many talents were wasted in the past mimicking the Beatles. please explore all music, not just trance. you have too much young talent to waste.

Posted by DJ_Sea on Apr-26-2006 06:44:

Its not just a fad. Trance music has been around me since i was born, my parents love trance music, i was raised with house and techno. although i dont produce all trance. away from the home i record and produce lots of other genres. i also love IDM and anything really trippy that gets my synesthesia flaring up

in fact, im the only person i know in my college/group of friends (that consists of about 30 people) that is interested in trance music. EVERYONE else is into guitars and rock.

if anything, id say that where i live, im going against the crowd.

rofl. ill take that as a compliment

Synesthesia is a cool thing to have huh? just for the pure show off factor if nothing else heh.

my mates in college regularly do "experiments" on me in my music technology class by making really fucked up synth noises and asking what i see

Posted by DJ_Sea on Apr-27-2006 17:11:

wow thanks.

i thought it would do with a little beefing up percs wise.

(P.S. those hi-hats are 100% synth made. v-station FTW! )

Posted by DJ_Sea on Apr-27-2006 17:17:
