Calagary Flames & Edmonton Oilers

I was in Calgary 2 years ago for the flames run for the cup.

It was amazing....

Hope the final is either

Montreal vs. Calgary or..

Montreal vs. Edmonton

And I desperately want the oilers to knock off Detroit.

I hate detroit soooo much

Posted by all-nite-freak on Apr-26-2006 17:36:

I wish all of you the best of luck unless we face each other in the finals.I really like the team edmonton has on the ice right now.Speed,Grit and the addition of Roloson was what the Dr. ordered.Bring the cup back to Canuckistan where it belongs!

In my hockey pool

I have Chris Pronger for EDM. he has really impressed me.

Also from Calgary I have

Iginla
Amonte
Hamerlik
Huselious

I hope a Canadian team wins the cup this year

any cdn team winning cup this year will do

Both edmonton and montreal are shocking everyone right now.

I'd love to see a Calgary vs edmonton in the west and ottawa vs montreal in the east semi finals.

That would really shit on the states.

Posted by Piano4444 on Apr-26-2006 18:17:

Completely agreed
show the states where hockey came from!

im going to games 3 and 4!

Death to the Hurricanes. If they wanted to name their team after a natural disaster, the should have called them the Maple Leafs

Posted by Piano4444 on Apr-26-2006 19:03:

I'm going to game 4

Posted by Judgelex on Apr-26-2006 19:15:

I like Oil Country!

same threads every year , always talking only when there teams lead in a series , try watching a game sometime rather than just looking at the scores and you will see the oilers are totally get outplayed and are lucky to be up a game ,. Remember you need to win 4 games to win a series .

Posted by Piano4444 on Apr-26-2006 21:07:

well aren't you just a Bob Bummer,

I've watched the EDM games and to beat Detroit it takes alot.
It's been close but in the end the scoreboard is what counts.

sounds to me like someone is just being a cry baby cuz their team sucked too much to make the playoffs

Canucks=Western Maple Leafs...never won...never will.

Posted by Piano4444 on Apr-26-2006 21:26:

Didn't the canucks just fire their head coach just like
the leafs did?

Posted by all-nite-freak on Apr-26-2006 21:28:

the difference in the cup drought is also only 2 years.

Go grizzlies...oh wait

I cant speak for games 1 and 2, but the oilers got outplayed in the 3rd period, and detroit evened the score. IMO Edmonton was the better team in both OTs and got the goal because they were working harder.

Calgary despite stinking in games 1 and 2 came out w/ a split and played their game to near perfection yesterday. IF the flames play a game 3 every game, itll be a quick series for victories till they have a cup hoisted high....

anyways, i think these playoffs are shaping up to be great for all canadian teams(that made the playoffs)

Posted by Thierry on Apr-26-2006 22:34:

I'll say it once and I'll say it again... GO FUCK YOURSELVES CANUCKS AND MAPLE LEAFS!!! Leave the playoffs to the good Canadian teams.

Even if Detroit comes back and beats us (it is only 2-1), at least we got in this year and aren't firing coaches and imploding the team a la Vancouver and Toronto. Wasn't the Canucks 1st in the division like a month ago? Good job!

Posted by Judgelex on Apr-26-2006 23:01:

Another point here is that the Oilers seem to consistently make the playoffs whereas the Canucks are hit and miss. Can't we all just be happy that the Canadian teams made the playoffs....I like them all except the Jets....Cause they arent even here anymore FUCK~!

Posted by dj_alucard on Apr-26-2006 23:05:

go oilers

what a game last night

i didnt pick em in my hockey pool but who cares

go ilers

Posted by 35 and hooked on Apr-27-2006 03:27:

sorry kids !!!!!!

Just because I'm from Vancouver doesn't make me their fan, Wings have been my team for 20 some odd years and I remain silent because a lot of things can happen in the playoffs. For example, nice OT loss by Montreal today.

The person that said they watched all 3 games in the EDM vs. DET series must have seen that the Wings are improving as each game goes on. So I don't want you to be disappointed but I really think you should focus more on trance music than hockey because trance will never let you down unlike your hockey team. GO WINGS GO!!!

Posted by all-nite-freak on Apr-27-2006 03:34:

trance and the red wings both have alot in common...they both die in 2006

Posted by kanadianiceman on Apr-27-2006 16:47:

two canadian teams would be killer. Truly show how Canada KICK ASS!!

wooooooooo go flames go.

Posted by ChadVanDyk on Apr-27-2006 19:40:

It seems like a Battle of Alberta '06 might be shaping up as Colorado is doing their job and I'm confident the Flames will too. If the Oilers pull the upset off, Alberta will turn into pure hockey hysteria. Red Mile will turn into Red Highway 2.

P.S. That hockey thread from 2 years ago is priceless. Thanks for the reminder J-spot.

Posted by 35 and hooked on Apr-28-2006 07:27:

lolololol!!!!!!

This thread is pretty quiet tonite , both Alberta teams lose lol

Posted by j_spot on Apr-28-2006 14:36:

normally I comment, but I didnt watch anything last night, so im mum on the subject.

EDM got walked over from the clips I saw... and Calgary didn't show up for the first 2 period... IMO Calgary didn't deserve to win lastnight, and well... They didn't, even though the winning goal was lucky as Kipper rarely gets beat thru the five hole.. I have a feeling the Calgary-Anahiem is not gonna go 7 games, and same with Edmonton-Detriot.
