Hmm, nice... gotta keep that in my mind on my next track.
I always wanted to do a deep-progg tune with sexy vocals!

How are you at writing your own lyrics?
Musical education?

Hope you'll get some exposure, tho you might wanna take a track with some more complexity to the vocals than clear blue water as audio example!

I'd be interested in using your voice, but do you have access to better recording facilities? I ask this because the demo you posted has considerable room noise.

You went and done it now, you are going to get inundated with replies! Most of us here are looking for vocalists for our tracks. Clear Blue Water is one of my favorites BTW. If I may be Simon Cowell for a second, you sing well, and have lots of potential, just needs a little work is all. I'm no vocal coach mind you, but seems to me you could work on your breath control a bit. Your have a nice vibrato though. I doubt anyone is going to be that picky around here though, especially when having the chance to mix some original vocals.

I was thinking, perhaps you could record some samples that all of us here could use. Just some short vocals, doesn't even have to be words, just lah lah lah's, ect, or any short verses you can come up with. Doesn't have to be a whole song.

Like was already said here, the quality of the recordings needs improvement. You really need a decent microphone. Better yet, if you can find someone with a studio that has a vocal booth, that would be best. A small studio probably wouldn't charge you much for a short session. A small investment, but once you get your name out there and your voice into a few productions, you will start to get known.

Youre not that bad and really need a better mic, also your picking up a lot of noise on that mic your using.
You voice does fluctuate a little and with lessons and a decent mic you could sound really good.
It also depends on what vocal range you could achieve, a nice gritty vocal for trance would do really well if you have a decent vocal range and sing a few different styles.
You voice was really high and I dont know if its because of that song, but if you had some vocal coaching you would a 100 times better.
You sound 1000 times better than some of the singers on sound click and most of them think they can really sing!
Come to think of it, most of the music on sound click is crap!!!!
Nice voice but just get a little training if youre really serious about singing and especially for trance.
The other thing is that you could be a little nervous and thats why your voice sounded like it did.

Posted by prolikewhoa on Apr-29-2006 17:07:

well... i've taken private lessons before and that sample was a capella with no note to lead me on... and no i wasn't nervous but i have a lower register generally. i guess that demo doesn't really do me justice, hearing it back. i didn't get enough air on the high note and it brought my pitch down for the rest of the song. i'll work on some more stuff and post it when i can. i don't really have the funds to buy a good mic right now...maybe in the summer when i'm working.

Your voice is above average to be honest and wouldnt say it was outstanding. Good enough to be on records thats for sure. I like it so thats good. Tip: use a condensor mic, they are far far far better and quality. You can pick a second hand one, just make sure you test it first. Second make sure you use a pop sheald. and use a GOOD compressor ont he vocal with a touch reverb (a really good one). Thats if you do that sid eof things yourself. If not then it dont matter. NEVER record with too much reverb, i tend not to record with reverb at all.

Anmyway ive aded you to my msn. and sent you a song.

Hey, listened to your demo.

Despite the recording quality, you have really great voice. A few notes a tad bit off key but that's understandable since you didn't have any key to base it off of. High notes lack a bit strength as well...might be the nature of the song song but everything else is fine. In my opinion, you are way ahead of lessons. Just need to let loose and pour your emotions into it. It's all about the feeling behind it.

Sounds great! I bet everyone could use a vocalist right now. Could you sing some wordless vocals? Like in this clip

Sample (right click)

Anyway, good luck with your singing.

Yeah I agree, you deff need a better mic with a popshield id recomend a soundelux u196 it would really thicken your voice up....

err you prolly dont wanna spend 1000 on a mic and nor do you have a proper signal chain. Your best bet is to go to the local recording studio and record some stuff maybe 10-12 accapellas. Covering songs you like and maybe doing some of your own.

You've got a new friend on msn: Matius

Link doesn't work. In any event, I missed this thread the first time around, but let me say that it is great to see some vocalists on this forum, cheers for posting.

(Penny, you don't count since you only do hit-and-runs )

Hey, you've got a beautiful voice.

My pal and I are currently working on a trance song. Pretty catchy melody but could definitely be brought out more by your singing.

By the way, I played around with your sample and I tried to clean up hiss and add some reverb. See if you like.

Posted by djbruuen on Jan-17-2007 19:27:

^ good job on the cleanup. Maybe a little too echoy, but with all the verb and stuff that is put on a song by final mixdown anways, i'm sure it'd blend in ok.
