is there anyway i can play this...i don't have the cd
i can't get it where i live..=(

I can understand your crazieness for this game, miss_e. It is incredibly competitive and addictive!

Ok, what you will need if you aren't able to acquire the retail version of Counter-Strike is a version of Half-Life. Just in case you don't know why, I'll explain. Counter-Strike is a Mod (short for Modification) of Half-Life. Once you have the Half-Life game, go to

http://www.counter-strike.net/

and get the v1.3 Full HL Mod Version Installation -- 9.19.01.

If the servers they have linked off of counter-strike.net are a bit too slow, just look for the file called, "csv13full.exe" to download off of Morpheus. Counter-Strike.net is a also a very good place for all information regarding Counter-Strike issues, strategy, etc. However, unless you can find a cracked version of Half-Life or Retail Counter-Strike on Morpheus (or by some other method), you will need to buy the retail version of Half-Life or Counter-Stike.

Counter-Strike is part of the Half-Life series of mods, its multiplayer albilities overall commanded by WON (World Online Network). WON and VALVE (the developers of HL) have a wicked anti piracy system that only lets individual codes work when logging onto their system.

Therefore, all users of CS must have a fully licenced version of Half-Life or Counter-Strike in order to use it.

HOWEVER.

If you buy a copy of Half-Life : Generation (Contains an add-on pack too), you get two keycodes (One for HL and one for CS). These keycodes are interchangeable, making it perfectly possible for two people to "Share" a copy of HL (as once you have installed it, you dont need the CD ever again).

but
You DO need a copy of either Half-Life or Counter-Strike to start with, and a VALID keycode to play on the internet.

well thanks for replying..i sorta understood..and no i cannot get half life cs nothing where i live..panama..central america sucky huh
