Shpongle!
I just got Shpongle's mix "Nothing Lasts... But Nothing is Lost"
Wow. How have I not heard of these guys before!
I'm impressed. I beleive they are from Washington State US so I guess they mainly play the west coast. It sounds like they are pretty big at the outdoor summer festivals.
I can't really fully describe them so I'm using this definition for them from a fan website dedicated to them...

| Shpongle.org's got the word So, what is shpongle? Well, to start things of, Shpongle is a music group that produces so called trance music. The thing about shpongle is that they have kind of created a new genre in the trance world. One might say that it lay somewhere in between Ambient and psytrance. All tracks that shpongle has released is different though. Some is clearly psytrance and some is clearly Ambient trance and a few of the tracks is not possible to catagorize. You might say that these tracks belong in the 'Shpongle trance' section ![]() What makes shpongle so unique is that they mix electronic dance/trance music with regular instruments and they also seem to take alot of inspiration from folkmusic around the world. You can hear some relations to spanish, india, african countries among others. It's up to you how you enterpret the music. Shpongle consist of two main musicians: Raja Ram and Simon Posford Raja Ram being the one who figures out melodies, texts for the tracks, the groundwork if you will. Raja Ram also plays his silver flute in alot of the tracks Simon Posford is the one who makes the electronic part of the music (Synth programming) and also plays some guitar. Raja Ram and Simon Posford also has a few helpers on the team who do different things. These people are very hard to find information about. But we have managed to find out about a few of them. Michele Adamson and Abigail Gerton - Vocals Harry Escot - Cellos and fake acoustic bass Pete Callard - Various acoustic Guitars This collaboration of people form (according to me and countless of other fan's) some of the best trance music known to us. |

Amazing duo. Simon Posford and Rajam ram churn out the most amazing ambient like music that takes you on a journey. Reallly good to just relax to. Not your typical ambient stuff.
