2006 NFL Draft
Well, as expected Mario Williams went as the 1st pick in the draft.
Reggie Bush going to New Orleans with the 2nd pick, seems like there is going to be a trade of mega proportions because the Saints dont need McAllister, Bush and Bennett. I wonder who they were drafting for...
I think Deuce is on his way out in NO. I was suprised the Texans went for Williams but Ican see why. AJ Hawk should have gone higher, and I wouldhave liked the Cavaliers tackle to go to any other team but the Jets. I was suprised the Raiders didn't take Leinart. The Bills just took Donte Whitner DB from Ohio State
Didnt they just give Deuce a new contract? I dont think any teams want Deuce, but Im sure half the league will take Bush.
Im not sure about the new contract and I wasnt able to find anything on it. Deuce tore and ACL and missed most of last season, but hes only 27 and shows good vision if there is actually someone to block for him. I can think of a few teams where he might be a success, but Im not sure who can or would be willing to sign him.
A Bush trade is certainly a possibility.
Detroit just snagged Sims from Fla. St. Leinart went to the Cardinals at #10
Denver takes Cutler from Vandy
Browns and Ravens swap picks, Cleveland gaining a 6th round as collatteral and the Ravens taking NGata from Oregon. The Browns take Wimbley after that....Im not sure about this pick; D Lineman from Florida State have historically flopped in Cleveland.
I wonder where Tamba Hali will end up.
Arizona is going to be a contender next year - the offense they are putting together over there is crazy.

Finally got his name worked out, eh?
Lendell White hasn't been drafted yet.

| Originally posted by Vlad I think they will be just fine... If a crappy QB like McCown could get Fitzgerald and Bolden 1000 yards each, Leinart would be able to do much more, plus they have the Edge. Luckily for them, they have a good defense. |
I think Arizona could put up a fight and make it to the playoffs with a wild card birth. As far as their defense, its progressing. The team needed a complete face lift, and Denny Green is trying to fix it to the best of his ability, luckily for him when he did go to Minnesota they had atleast 2-3 of their OL making the pro bowl, and than one season the entire OL was in the pro bowl. He didnt inherit a good OL, and thats probably why Arrington was never able to run the ball. Its a step by step procedure, right now Im more interested in how the Jets are going to fix their team, no QB, an old RB, their defense is stripped - except for Vilma... the only thing they have to look forward to are the 2 stud OL they picked up in the draft today.
Poz didnt go into the draft this year... hmmm...
Yes the Saints did work out a very big contract deal with Deuce recently. It was last year before the season started. So in regards to the Reggie Bush pick, go figure. I am seeing Bush being traded somewhere else, or the Saints could be stuck with him. I don't know if teams are interested in Bush's "current legalities" right now.
And I am going to talk about the Colts right now. I think they have found the perfect replacement for Edge. Joseph Addai from LSU. I don't think many people know about him, because LSU had that carousel of running backs the past couple of years. This guy is a real player. He can break tackles and run the distance. Also, he is a decent receiving back that can give Peyton about 50 to 55 receptions a year. I like him better than Dominick Rhodes.
awaits for team to take the gamble on Marcus Vick .....................................
The thing with Reggie Bush is - I cant think of any teams that are desperate for a RB, which also have some kind of bargaining chips, and the biggest bargain chip which the Saints need is defense.
As far as the Colts, they will make the playoffs, but I dont know how dominant their offense will be since they will are gonna rely on their pass more than their run.

brief rundown on what i thought of the draft
Mario Williams
i know the texans coudve traded their 1st pick and still gotten mario williams a couple picks later. They screwed up.Plus they passed on Bush..i mean
as for the saints...sorry butters but bush will be great but i dont see them doing much in the next few years, same ol saints dude.
best pick was Leinart to the Cards, now all they need is an O-Line and dare i say it watch out for the Cardinals
jets shoudve gotten him when they had the chance, franchise QBs FTW, I guess theyll tank the season this year and get Quinn next year...they got Clemons though, dunno much about him.
my homeboy Moss went to the Giants, that teams offence is just whoa now, to bad Eli is like his bro (so far at least) and will find a way to screw up in the playoffs
dolphins got some DB from Tenn.JasonAllen....um yeah I dunno, we prob shoudve gotten chad jackson but whatever
millen bloopers continue....as he is kicking himself for signing kitna now lol, u know he woudve drafted Leinart, but he s prob paranoid about picking offensive players in the 1st round already haha
oh and....
12 straight years a player from da U is chosen in the 1st round!
da U
ps. hmmm this wasnt very brief actually

I thought the Eagles had great draft. Can't argue with Bunkley and Justice in the first two rounds. I don't know much about Gocong but the 4th round pickup of Max Jean-Gilles was a steal that late in the draft. Plus Bloom will really give some consistancy to the return game without having to risk injury to Westbrook or Moats.

Browns had a good draft, but this year is all about some of our former high picks paying off
