Thumbs down in memory of those who perished.

mmyeah. i learned today that some company in the U.S. has bought up a bunch of the scrap metal from Ground Zero, and will be melting them into commemorative plates for the low low price of 29.99. thousands have been preordered.

how much of this is going to charity? the victim's families? anything to benefit society? nothing.

how pathetic and self serving is that? it makes me sad to know that people want to exploit this tragedy beyond a media circus.

"oh, well, as long as i get richer."

pigs.

that is bad.. living in America.. it makes you sad to see people like that.. who make jokes about bin laden, and try to exploit our society. There were many scams right after 9/11.. it was not good times

tell me about it.. i'm not exactly surprised though given what companies will do for a buck.. unfortunately this is how the economy works - tragedies make capitalists happy cuz it provides a potential increase in the GDP

you guys are right

Bizz...your right this shit provides an opportunity for them to profit...but its this lack of compassion and failure to keep something sacred is what makes the world hate the US in the first place...

I just wish this whole event could be deleted from the books...it sickens me...

yeah. today i saw a headline, saying that the U.S. advised Canada to step up security because these terrorists threatened any and all democricies. ha. only you, america. you're the one selling arms to their enemies.

Yea i heard about this on the news.......and they said that a portion of the proceeds from the sales wiil go to victoms of the attacks....but when the news then interviewed the charities and people who are suffering thay ALL said they want NO part of this and that it is a disgrace....

its pretty low if you ask me...but there are ALWAYS creepy people who can only gain from other peoples misfortunes.....pathetic...

Posted by Vivid Boy on Feb-05-2002 04:49:

well its time for us as people to start making changes....guess what the business sells these plates....but its the ignorant ppl that buy it...and its the ignorant ppl that feed the rich with their stupidity and ignorance....

if we eliminate the buyer we elminate the seller

it's the capitalist mentality of profits over dead bodies that got the US into this in the first place!

why just accept it? that's a pacifist's attitude. try and actually do something that pushes toward change in such a capitalistic society. even thinking about change is better than accepting b.s. they're trying to sell us. *shrug*

Posted by JM on Feb-06-2002 03:06:

yeah it would look good if like 5% or 10% of profits went to charity and other stuff concerning NYC.....

hey, this is America though (oooppsss USA)
