Shame / Disagreement [Updated!] I'm working on a new track, have a listen! :)

Hello all,
I'm working on a new track.
I would appreciate some feedback on it so far!

You can listen to a sample of it at my MySpace profile:
-Link down atm-

Cheers!

Dude! What a phat, crunchy bassline! That's just sick.

THe kick is simple and clicks more than thuds.

THe synths sound like good-ol-late 90 dark rave. I like their timbres, and the themes have a nostaglia appeal to me.

SUPERSAW PAD ALERT. I'm a sucker for those myself, a little cheesy of a usage, but never fear at TA! They are before the breakdown, and like I said, a good familiar theme.

A lovely Vanguard synth there. I like that Ayla preset myself. I wouldn't recommend using presets that are so recognizeable, but it fit the track nonetheless.

THe breakbeat and the supersaw intro was not groundbreaking, fairly old school, but it was well done IMO.

The rest of the trance flows nicely. I like the clap, it's got the right amount of mid-to-high end.

The volume fade-out was a little bizarre, and I wish it didn't end as such.

Nice track. Prime epic nostaglia.

Thx for the feedback!
I forgot to mention that this is a faded sample So there is supposed to be things before and after the fades! Yeah I know that it's a bit risky to use that Vanguard preset, but it fits the track so well imo
I'll probably try to make another sound wich has the same character.
Haha "Supersaw alert", yeah that's maybe because the pad and the arp-lead is made on the JP-8000.

Anyway, really happy that you liked it so far!

Cheers!

sounds very nice. If there is one thing i DONT like, there have to be the kick! try to change that out. (just my opinion)

indeed a cool bassline.

Seems that every aspiring trance producer has some incarnation of the Roland JP-80xx.

Once again, thx everybody for the feedback so far!

Do you guys think I should try sending it to some djs? If so, any ideas who might play it?

Posted by [Alpha]Dave on May-03-2006 16:04:

^^Anyone?

Firstly... you gotta understand how things work around here: You should spend quality time reviewing other people's tracks, and lots of them, if you expect a fraction of them to return the favor. Second, the board is becomming clogged with many track submissions, and things move slowely because of that.

Cheers on getting more feedback. I understand that it's hard to create in a vacuum.

*bump*

ohhw its DOES sounds quite muddy when the kick comes back after the breakdown.. 4:46 have ANOTHER listen to it lol

Yeah I understand that! But by my latest "anyone?" I refered to my question in my reply above: if it was worth sending out to djs.

Takkra: Thank you very much!

to answer your question about sending out to DJs, i'd say not quite yet. I would work on it some more and get it sounding real nice and professional. While you are doing that, try to make some contacts with DJs (if you already havent) then try to run it by a few of them first and see what they think. I personally think with some more work into it, it fair just fine in the club, it is a bit old school, but thats never a bad thing in my book! Keep up the good work man, and keep us posted with updates!

TranscendentalP:
Thank you for your reply! Yeah I will work on it some more. And as I mentioned before; it's a faded sample on the page and I have made some more on it. I will update the MySpace player later. Unfortunealy I mostly know producers, not so much Dj's but if there is anybody around here who can give me a hand later on I'd appreiate it!

Once again, thanks for your reply!

Posted by TranscendentalP on May-03-2006 18:39:

i really only know personally a few djs that do shows online, and i dont really know them "personally" but I do talk to them. Other than that, if you check my myspace pages there's a few DJ's in the my friends list you could consider, like Mike Khoury, who is a badass DJ here in Chicago.

Posted by [Alpha]Dave on May-03-2006 18:43:

Thanks! I'll check it out later on!
