Arrow DJ Terry Thurston at Amps, Tampa

He was there this friday the 28th.

I don't know how many of you got to attend the "lights out" night at the Amps but this guy was AMAZING!

Played heavy bass, more like "Drum'n'bass" style of music with trance and high-enery breaks interspersed in between.

One of the rare nights when the dance floor was full till the end and people were actually dancing like crazy.

A class performer from amongts the local guys to visit Amps - I would look out for this very talented DJ.

i was there for about 30 minutes. started stringing on the rotating dancefloor which is hard as hell b/c it messes with your balances and coordination. once the bouncers told me to stop, i left. good music while i was there. but im really there to show off, like it or not. the strings werent even long, maybe two hand lengths from my hand.

but u had fun, more power to you.

Sad as it is, i can't blame the bouncers for that. I remember a few months back when there was a nasty scene with a clubber hit in his eyes by someone "stringing".

I think now they ask you to roll up the string, or atleast keep it fairly small, if you are gonna be using them.

I have seen people stringing though, on the centre platform - taking turns. The elevated platform at the centre has been removed (not sure why).

Anyways, the DJ was awesome. Much better than the much-hyped "DJ from Arizona" from the other day.

i dunno, im too deep into trance and other EDM's to really like the commercial breaks they play. i mean, if i had just started listening to EDM, i might like the club better, but i just find it too commercial.

strings have to be absolutely off. ide be up there on that platform if they had it!!
