Study: Middle-aged Americans Much Sicker than British

Even when comparing two identical groups (white middle-aged), Americans are sicker than the British. This study has tried to eliminate all extraneous variables.

America has way too many different nationalities and people overall for a study like this. For example, some symptoms and disease are found in white or black people more than asians or natives for example, get my drift?

Though the overall fact that the American public is extremely unhealthy is no news. Hence the Healthy People 2010 program. Now in health classes we cover diets much more than before.

I believe the problem has been addressed and is working on being resovled.

To be fair when I saw the title I thought sick as in perverted and was gonna argue against it but sick as in ill? Well Americans eat too much fast food! Europeans probably drink more tho (when I went to America I was amazed to see so few bars! In America there is a fast food joint every other shop whereas in England and possibly Europe too the same could be said for pubs!)

All in all, I think we are all doing our best to avert the pensions crisis that will come about in the future!

So? British people have worse teeth than Americans. I guess we are even then.

"Only non-Hispanic whites were included in the study to eliminate the influence of racial disparities."

Everytime I've been to the UK I've seen my fair share of fatsos, too much beer/fish&chips/crumpets/Afternoon Tea (The cakes/pastries).

Yes there is because they all different stuff, different time, have different health and habit tendencies and No there's no such thing in Britain. Immigration is definatly not like it is here and the country has 1/5 of the population size

Ever been to London? Probably the most multi-cultural city in the world if you ask me, full of foreigners. Population size does not matter as only a sample is examined.

But we're getting off-topic really and missing the essence of the discussion really...actually...what discussion :s Not enough information to make any valid conclusions really...
