[Progressive] Kenosis - Hypnosis, 60 minutes, 192 kbps

Title: Hypnosis
Date Recorded: 4.30.06
Link: Kenosis - Hypnosis

This, the first new mix in quite a while, is a progressive/progressive trance mix in the 130-135 bpm range. The feel I was going for is very moody, slightly ethereal, and slightly psychodelic. There are a lot of acoustic guitar/sitar riffs, chanting vocal sections, and acidy synth sounds. I liked Mo-Shic's new prog-psy artist album quite a bit, so I put two tracks from there onto the mix. It ends with a progressive remix of a very familiar (to tranceheads) track. I hope you like it.

Tracklisting

Zehavi and Rand - Paroxetine (Alucard's Dying In Your Arms remix)
Mo-Shic - It Could Be Your Time
Liam Shakar - Resonance
Tegma - One Night in Cairo
Viscid - Orange Room (original mix)
Chakra - Opacity
Mo-Shic - Primavera
Oliver Prime - Sights Beyond
Alexander Polyakov - Reload (4mal burning morning remix)

great

I'm doing another one soon that's a lot more what I usually play (psytrance/hard progressive trance....like some of John '00 Fleming's harder sets if you like that).

Great mix... one tiny little blip in the mixing late on, but nothing to worry about.

Love the Moshic track and the Tegma track. Isnt the Tegma track A Night in Cairo tho?

Actually that title makes a lot more sense for the mood of the track. I didn't hear too many 'drums in africa' in the track called that. Looks like someone at Beatport screwed up

Glad you liked it.

Yeah, I heard it on beatport. Not a bad track at all . Keep your eyes peeled for something more upbeat from me in the next 10 days or so, Chris.

and I changed the description to include the proper title of that Tegma (not Tegmo, gah!) track. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: [Progressive] Kenosis - Hypnosis, 60 minutes, 192 kbps

Lovely mix. Have listened to it a few times now. Nice sets of tracks. Those Mo-Shic tracks are excellent. And One Night in Cairo, wow, nice melody. I hadn't heard it before.

You started the mix with a make-you-chill song. It did the job at setting the mood for the entire mix. Really nice. I also liked how you ended the mix playfully. PPK jumped to my head when I could identify the song.

I'm definitely doing a cue for this one to burn it. It's a shame you had to make it short though, I was enjoying it and was a bit dissappointed it ended. I guess good things come in small doses.

Thanks for the share.

Thanks. I was actually a bit worried that the ending was too 'playful' and sort of upset the entire mood of the mix. I guess the opposite conclusion was reached in at least one circumstance .

I'm posting a link to my demo cd for most of 2006 very soon. It's full-on psytrance and hard progressive trance. Look for something called "QED".
