Rasta [Stonedacion 003: Bombay, India] Allied Nations - Sunset @ My Terrace - 05/05/06

NEW LINK!

Stonedacion 003: Bombay (Stolen! Thanks Clovis!)

Just cooked this up for some people who came and visited and myself, and think it came out rather nicely.. A nice little journey I played as the sun was coming down over Bombay. It kinda wobbles around some deep house grooves then takes the plunge into the harder ish... Some tunes I just got, and some ive had for a long time- Lots of recent releases, lots of older records... Some really special ones for me overall... Haven't recorded anything over roughly an hour for ages, but this one just moved... I couldnt stop! Just put it on, and kick back! Couple sound issues as the firts tune was playing, and a slight volume weirdness at the 20 min mark...but nothing id lose sleep over... Enjoy! Have been able to have one listen through as it uploads and I was feelin it.. hope you guys do to! Don't take it too seriously, it's just some fun in the sun! Bas said I should title it in search of stonedacion 1... ISOS1.. but we all know Clovis is the smart one in that duo... Also, peep the last tune real good guys, it's the best up and coming indian house producer, my boy Shane, runs a new label called Brutal by Birth, digital for now, but SICK..

This has all the qualities to be as good as your other mixes, but just doesn't deliever it as well as the others. The first 60mins track selection is fantastic as usual, but let down by a few shady transitions, esp the disaster at 24mins. Unfortunately the transitions took away the smooth feeling to the tracks.

I was suprised to hear the more upbeat trance ending, I like ur mixes for their slower tempo. I cant say the ending was shit because it wasn't, just a suprise.

Overall excellent mix on paper, just let down a bit by the execution.

sorry.

Yeah believe me, I was wrestlin those two tunes at 24! What can I say? Stonedacion! Hahaha.. This wasn't meant to be as serious and "layed out" as my other mixes. I had never mixed any of these tunes on my turntables before. I threw them on the lappy, and just started recording. Ended up turning out OK, so I posted it. Since I played a more extended set, and it was getting darker out, I just felt like crankin the energy up a notch towards the end... More my live style. Expect a 3.5 hour mix up after this thursday- I have a gig down here .

what can i say, stonedh4x. You shouldn't record your stoned mixing, sorry for the brutal truth. Like coup said, shady transitions, and i can't feel the flow either; first you play it slow for too long, and then killing with those trance tunes.

your previous mix > your other mixes > stonedaction
