First of all the teacher shouldnt be disciplining a student for eating with a spoon. BIG DEAL! If this is what these people are worried about then i feel sorry for them. Seriously get a life!

As for the filipinos. Take a pill! Seriously! This is clearly not a case of discrimination and you clearly are over reacting. If you are that sensitive i'd hate to be your neighbour! Sheesh!

According to family lawyer Fo Niemi, the executive director of the Center for Research Action on Race Relations, his mother was told by the school's principal during a telephone call that "this is not the way Canadians eat; you have to adapt to Quebec society." School officials also allegedly called Cagadoc's eating habits "disgusting."

Yeah for real, this is pretty retarded.

I like the part where they say "about a dozen people...." haha, they only got ten people to come out to their protest?

If I was the parent I would have let the fork & spoon incident go. Maybe have a word with the ignorant teacher. But the principle calling me up to say "this is not the way Canadians eat; you have to adapt to Quebec society" would totally tick me off.

For sure. I wonder if there is a communication problem here though. The school says that kid was eating in a "disgusting" manner. Maybe he had food spewing out of his mouth/talking with a mouth full of food; but all the parents hear is "eating with a spoon".

I obviously have no idea ... wasn't there or anything, but that was my first take after reading that article.

hearing someone smack and chew their food with mouth open like a cow.

please eat with your mouth closed.
