How to Get a DJ's Autograph
Sorry if this post sounds stupid but I just starting going out to Trance Events. I'd really like to get a copy of my CD signed by the artist but I was wondering if DJ's do that. Do you usually wait after they finish their set and then do autographs or you have to reach out into the DJ booth and hope he signs it. Tell me your stories, GUYS!
Before or after, be polite, be confident, smile, be friendly, dont expect anything, have a pen, have everything ready to go, dont crowd him, dont do it while hes mixing, but be firm, dont let him leave before he gives you that autograph. However, tiesto and PVD are very difficult to get autographs from now. Good luck!

some guys actually hang out in the place before their set. i've seen bo and dom (filo & peri) and andy moor. there have been others at viva for sure. (i think miika, askew, others?)
dunno what to say. some of them will only do it afterwards. some will do it at the booth during their gig. some do it before.
then again some are too tired or feel they'd be too swamped and bail after a gig or stick around but security boots everyone out (including the djs, although they get time to clean up their gear). sometimes they don't want to be disturbed during a set, for various reasons. some show up on the dot for their set or even late.
just gotta try to best guess the dj's personality and mood and time it right.
many sign for a bit while actually in their set,
Ive seen benassi to do this lots, same with seb fontaine, jules, AVB even did it.
But ive learned that a signature isnt everything, but be there for the music!@
What Aqva said ^ Although if I were a bigtime DJ, Sean and you came up to me with 20 vinyls I'd be kinda pissed off. Yes, you supported my music, thank you, but do I HAVE to sign everyone of these? It would make me think you just want to try and resell them all on eBay or something. Its quality, not quantity. You bring up 20 tracks and they're going to just scribble through them. If I ever get tracks signed anymore I bring only one or two per artist (my favorites) and I always ask them to make a personal note on them so that I have some kind of memory of the occasion. My favorite being "Alje, Thnx for keepin me liq'd, love you daddy, XOXO L. Lashes". Note, the personal touch, far cooler than having 20 records with the same scribble on them, right?
the only problem i have with people asking for autographs during sets is that everyone then wants one and starts swamping the dj
my personal preference, after cause a lot of time the djs get to the club just before their set or sometimes you dont even see them come in cause they hide behind security and quickly get behind the decks
After has worked best for me, although Andy Moor was the exception. I would add that patience is the KEY. I saw Above & Beyond (Jono & Paavo) last night at Last Supper Club (seattle). Like AquaYak said, be polite, friendly, etc, & wait your turn. It also helps to guage the situation. Last night, I let everyone else go before me b/c they just wanted to get 1 item signed by the lads or get their photos taken with them; I even lent out my pens to those who didn't bring theirs. I waited to be the last one b/c I brought 13 record jackets with me, which Jono & Paavo both signed. Paavo & Jono were really cool about taking the time to sign everything & they expressed their appreciation for showing my support by bringing the record sleeves to the gig.
Rules:
a) Be nice, don't push and smile
b) Get to know people, connections are always good
c) Most DJs and artists are really friendly and if you manage to catch one just ask politely they will definitely sign in
d) See if you can find their manager - these guys can arrange everything

Hopefully, I'll be able to get his autograph, just looking to get one photo on my Cellphone and get my copy of ISOS5 signed. 
But I heard it's really hard to get him to sign anything. Now, I'm just wondering where I should keep my CD during his performance.

put the cover in a zip lock and in your back pocket
or in a bag and in coat check and get it towards the end
What worked for me in getting Tiesto's autograph was yelling and swearing really loud in Dutch, flashing 20 Tiesto records for him to see and shoving my way through the crowd of wankers wanting to get their ticket stubs signed at the end. He heard Dutch, he saw I financially supported him by buying his music, so he signed one of mine. Pretty simple really. CD jackets are harder for him to see, so you may want to make a sign or bring a Dutch flag to get his attention. He usually signs between five and ten autographs and leaves 100 people without em. Its all about separating yourself from the flock of Tiesto worshipping sheep that are always in attendance.
PS, wearing a Tiesto t-shirt will not get you noticed at this party.
I think ill bring "the tube"
It really sucks but hey it's bonzai and will look good in a frame.
