The parties where it all comes together like it should...
Just came back from a sick day p[arty and felt like writing about it... it was just one of those parties where music, friends, drinks, and fun all seemed to just come together...
Anyways, my boy messaged me at 2, for his bday party, headed to hishous by 430 that afternoon and walk into the party meet a thousand people I know and am asked to put on my music.. So already im happy, we listen to a chilled deep house mix of mine for a hour or 2, just drinking, chilling hanging out, then my boy somes on and plays some wicked psy into the night, sun coming down, music getting harder, more people comeing, all outdoors, all lit with nice pleasant garden lights, probably waking up with whole neighborhood with the crazy tunes he was playing, just got home...
It all was jus good. A good house party with great music, good people, and good drinks. Will write about some more perfect scenes later, but want to hear some of your stories. Write about those parties that just went, that just came together and flowed so well.

Best event for its music: Woody McBride
Best event for the vibe: Green Velvet
Best event because of friends: Angel Alanis
I remember Alanis dropping Derrick Carters "Where U at?" It was perfect. One of my fave tracks off all time and after dancing hours I was revived to dance hours more. Some of the friends who came had never been to the venue and never dabbled in EDM. They had a blast which made me all the more happy. You could find us center stage, middle, dancing all night.
Woody McBride was the first dj whom I'd seen live and was stopped in my tracks. I remember he hit the decks at around midnight (being in the Midwest, most of the crowd had dispersed
) anyway, he's in the dj booth which stood higher than the dance floor. Imagine about 15 people total on the dancefloor and everyone just stopping, looking into the booth as if he was God. He's what started this love of EDM. I've never heard anything more deep, dark, full. I even went as far as emailing the venue, as I couldn't remember his name and wanted a recording of the night. All I got was the name, which leads me here...
Green Velvet spun in a theatre here that's used for mainly plays and opera. It has 2 balconies and the inside is reminiscent of Greek architecture, columns in the middle of the floors, etc. The ceiling is filled with stars. I recently saw Sigur Ros there, so you know the venue is georgous, ethereal. So my friend and I have a little smoke before coming in (the vibe haha) and find the place packed to occupancy. I don't know if for Velvet or Dj Rap (who spun shitty breaks) I just remember the crowd moving all as one, everyone sweaty, bodies on bodies.. an orgy! in Greece. And then the black man with the foot tall, green mohawk who tore everyone up and danced just as hard as anyone in the crowd in the process.
this last thursday i went to this super-cheesy club in my town and got super-piss-drunk with all my friends...
then the dj started playing all housey stuff and shit and we just went bananas...damn...we were just jumping around for hours straight not minding how we looked...happy faces all over...good times
it really felt like a night where everything just clicked...like you were describing...
