Petition to Locate EU Headquarters in Brussels, and ONLY in Brussels

13% of the EU parliament budget every year is spent on moving between Brussels and Strasbourg (Strasbourg has 4 days a month I think?), which is fucking insane if you ask me. Sign this in support of taking that away

Well Strasbourg was only ever a compromise for the French, it's not like the Parliament moves around every country to please them as well

I'd like to say I was jealous of France, but I'm British so it'd be impossible for me to be jealous!

It's just daft if we are paying all that money just to make up for France's small penis...

I really couldn't care less Sweden doesn't got any, but ffs, why have two parliaments?! TOTAL waste of tax money! Give me fucking ONE good reason to keep it in Strasbourg and I will "unsign" the petition!

Plus apperentely you took out something like 2.7 billion euro a year more in rent that you should have, oh great

If you give me ONE REASON why we should keep it as it is I will do it. Actually I will raise you, if you give me one good reason, I will "unsign" the petition, PLUS I will run naked waving with the French flag to downtown and back, while I'm constantly screaming "Viva la France" (and have a friend record it for proof).

it's all about symbol .....we soo wanted to have the parliament in strasbourg to show our influence in the EU and remind to the new members that we have been with the 5 others countries the creator of the EU.So yeah maybe its a waste of money but i really hope it gonna stay in france. We already lost so much influence these past years that yeah we deserve to have this last thing ....the parliament ...don't be heartless guys .....

Trust me, no one, I mean NO ONE, doubts the French influence over the EU (except perhaps the French). Imo French got too much influence if anything

Most people in Sweden (and probably in most EU countries) see this as a symbol of the burocracy and senseless spending that the EU stands for, it is also a symbol of the French obstinacy when it comes to everything (ie French must have a share of everything no matter what).

They are seperate institutions from the parliament. If the ECB moved from Frankfurt to, say Stockholm, once every week then I would be a STRONG opponent of that too, but now they are staying in the same place all the time and are independent from the parliament. Don't you see the difference?

Well obviously it is great for the people of strasbourg. BUT what the fuck is that for kind of argument? Sure, why don't we put a parlimant in every town in the EU? That would be soooo coool and good for everyone!!! Obviously not because it would be a senseless spending of money for no real use, just like this!
