he uses cds and glue.

Posted by Nayil on May-08-2006 18:25:

his tracks might be aweful other than 1 or 2 per show.... but sumtimes his mixing can be inspiring.

Posted by kixalot on May-08-2006 22:31:

What're you guys talking about?

He plans those sets for months, I've seen his vinyls all marked and whatnot.

Posted by Allayla on May-09-2006 07:07:

its ableton, if you want i can dig up a long interview with armin where he clearly states that he uses ableton for his weekly ASOT mixes.. then he says that he would never do it live with the risk of a laptop crashing.. he likes to use a mix of vinyl and cd's for his live shows

Posted by Aureus on May-09-2006 07:10:

does anyone know if he has a special controller for it (like Sasha does?)

color coded with different colored stickys and all

He plans the out and colors each disc, lays them on tarp and plays twister with his ipod on, whatever song plays on he puts a body part on.
At the end of each track he removes the vynils he laid his hands on and throws it out. Then he gets the ones he didnt throw out and he puts them in an oven to make sure they are hot, then he eats cheetos for 5 months preparing his set. Without washing his hands he shakes them all over the vynils and all this cheese dust flakes on the vynils and those are the cheesy tracks he throws out (with the kick bass kick bass kick bass-bassline) and then he hooks up his telephone line to his mixer to get that 90kbps frequency we all love on Internet radio and connects it to the mic. He then opens up quicken books 97 and 100 instances of Mozilla thunderbird, and skype to get a horribly laggy signal when he plays them online. Then he begins to mix! Everyone is listening while he does his taxes and looks on mapquest to find phone numbers (I have no idea why.)
