BT - "This Binary Universe"

Just thought I'd drop a line here for people who like to listen to BT.. his new album is due out on August 29th called This Binary Universe.

He's also working on producing the new artist album from DJ Tiesto and last I heard.. they were like 6 or so tracks in and that was back in February.

Shortly following that.. he's slated to release his 6th album as well which is yet to be titled or talked about. I do know he's working on it though from what I've read.

I believe he was working with recording artist Sting as well for a track.

Sorry if this was posted already.

just spent 22 quid on Rare and Remixed. First impression was I am actually not impressed wiht most of it, since its been shittily beatmixed by some git, and its mostly remixes (a bit obvious i know due to albums title.) but i was expecting full on ear candy, so far most of what i got is a lot of dated shit.

Shame since I love Electric Sky Church Music and Emotional Technology had some great tunes too...

I'd say check out some of BT's older work.. for example.. IMA or ESCM. If you run across Movement in Still Life.. make sure you don't get the US version because it wasn't put together as well as the one released overseas.

I love BT so can't wait to hear this. Does anyone know if this will be in 5.1 surround sound or regular stereo? I know there was a lot of talk about him doing it in 5.1

I have escm, like i said and I loved it.

This CD has lots of his older tunes from IMA and MISL, but its remixes that really dont justify the originals in anyway.

They are frankly shit some of them. Really quite sad. To top it off some geezer has decided to butcher the outro intro of each tune (which are usually very iteresting by BT.)

In reguards to 5.1

I know he has said befor he cant stand making music in stereo anymore...

My guess is there will be a DVD version containing the tunes as they were meant to be heard, and then a CD version in stereo.

I thought R&R was a great album. There was some old stuff that hasn't dated well but most of it is blasting epic house and trance. Lots of really rare and special tracks on there.

agreed. Id even say I enjoyed it more than Emotional Technology with the exception of a few tracks. It has a real variety unlike many mix cds which is really rare considering it all involves the same artist.

I keep missing nearby dates, etc.. because of work and crap. =/

Unfortunately not but here is some information about it..

"In addition to his touring and film endeavors, BT continues to work on two albums. The upcoming This Binary Universe, his 5.1 surround sound audio-visual brainchild, has been described as fine art that works on many levels, mind-bendingly deep but a pleasure by Keyboard Magazine, which went on to say that In a hundred years, it could well be studied as the first major electronic work of the new millennium. BT is also beginning sessions on a new artist album, the first of which features Police founder and drummer Stewart Copeland. Its got beautiful jangly guitars all over it, says BT of the newest project, Ive always wanted to take those elements and put them in a context that makes sense on a dance floor."

That was quoted from here: http://www.costacommunications.com/...%20PROJECTS.htm
