U.S. Customs fees for taking equipment abroad ??!! need advice thnx!
my dad is going over to the US in fall, and i was planning to ask him to buy a Dj mixer and bring it over to Kiev. atm im looking forward to an Ecler Nuo 3 which i found at DJdeal.com for 499.00 USD
is it possible to transport that kind of stuff abroad in the US and what could the customs fees be? advice would be very appriciated
officially yes you should have to pay import fees when you bring it back to your country.
Unofficially it is pot luck whether you get away with it.
As i posted here before, I managed to get three cdj1000s through as my carry on luggage and back into the uk without paying a penny.
Your govt webpages should have fees on- for the uk it is 10% of total, plus 17.5% of the new total...it varies from country to country
it wont cost you anything to remove it from the US
in fact if you paid tax on it in the US, you should be able to get some of that back by exporting the item.
you wont have to pay anything in the US. Only upon importing into your country will you have to pay your country's local fees/taxes/duty....if any
thanks
