The OFFICIAL Wii Shell Revealed!

I'd hit it.

Posted by fr0st on May-10-2006 00:15:

i dont get it????

Posted by Omega_Blue on May-10-2006 06:27:

it's better than the gamecube controller, but it's still ugly as sin. i don't get the wire coming out the bottom of the controller instead of the top, too. i never understood why dreamcast did it like that.

Posted by Omega_Blue on May-10-2006 06:28:

looks like the underside of a flip-flop with analogue sticks.

soooo....they are releasing a traditional controller for the wii? is that what this is? so you plug the main wii remote into this and play games with them together? or apart? huh?

or is it so its easier to play the classic games? that would make sense.

bingo

Meh; this thing is awful compared to the gamecube controller

And i'll hope the joysticks last long; coz those on N64 really sucked...

Posted by Moongoose on May-10-2006 13:13:

Mine is still as good as new If you dopnt want your controller to brake stop throwing it into the wall

Posted by Push2005 on May-10-2006 13:50:

Just play Mario Party ; you have to rotate your controller stick there. It wont last long

I think that the wire starts at the top (center) and is shown behind the controller, pulled down. I may be wrong, though. Then again, what could that center blip on the top of the controller be, anyway?

I think it looks promising.

SNES Controller meets Dual Shock.

This gives me more hope for Wii than the previous shell graphic design prototypes.

Posted by stren on May-10-2006 17:23:

it looks retro and uncomfortable. GC pad was better

Don't be too upset, my friend. This is a prototype so I'm pretty sure Nintendo will do everything they can to make their controller comfortable.

Honestly... Has there been an [OFFICIAL] Nintendo controller that felt odd in your hand?

Posted by Push2005 on May-10-2006 19:24:

I think this controller sucks... I'm so used to the gamecube controller. There the left-joystick and that 4-pointercross switched places.

Now it's on the same spot as the PS2 controller; which I hated so much. It's horrible to play with... Goddamn it

Luckily this isn't the main controller; those remote pads seem gorgeous though

You guys haven't even seen how big this thing is yet, so how can you say it's uncomfortable?

I seriously think it'll be great, and I'm even more stoked now than ever before that my Wii is paid off and I'm first in line at my local Gamestop.

Posted by RJT on May-10-2006 19:37:

Also: $10 says that by the time Wii hits store shelves, that cord you see will be long gone.

Posted by Moongoose on May-10-2006 19:46:

Beter preorder your games too, those zeldans and red steels might run out awfuly fast (at least those are the two i would consider buying)

ANd as controler go. Hell if i survided 8 hour gaming sessions with the NES controller and the original gameboy (which now seems much bigger then it did way back) that one based on the SNES controler will do just fine.

Yah; you're right... I will buy a Wii anyway you know

They say it'll be released in Q4 2006... But Europe will beleft behind I presume ?

Anyone know when the Wii will be in stores in Germany, Belgium; The Netherlands etc ?

frankly i only held NGC and n64's pads, although we used to have a console called "pegasus" here, which was basicly a rip off of some old nintendo, and that pad was kinda similar too; small and ftl

Wii Lightgun Show revealed.

see this is the point, nintendo have always been the controller experts, every single one they have brought out has been very easy to play with and very comfortable, with the possible exception to some of the n64 controller but even so with some use it became the norm. They are the masters at this side of things so i wouldnt worry about it.

backside of the retro controller, looks nice. Almost like a happy face

Posted by stren on May-11-2006 07:53:

and the cable DOES come out the bottom
