I don't know how I'd describe this to you guys - To be honest, it's the product of a week and a half on an immense amount of Vicodin and Herb. I guess I'd place this somewhere between the sounds of Farina's "Mushroom Jazz" and Holden's "Balance 005" with just a touch of uplifting diva house, though I'm not even sure if that's an accurate description.
Just take a listen some time when you need to chill or just want something to relax to at home. This isn't dance floor material, it's material for you to end the day with or to chill your out.
As a personal note, this is something different for me that seriously helped reinvigorate me with regards to playing again.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, I hope you all are too.
Hope you enjoi. Cheers.
w00t!
cool, i always enjoy your mixes. it's always nice to change up the pace, ill let you know what i think after a listen.

It's my "classic of the month"
Thanks for listening guys!

How deep is deep deep lol, sounds fun Ill have a download thanks.
I don't think I've heard an opening as perfect as that on any TA sets. You say it'll be deep house and the opener is the perfect perfect mood setter. It's very anticlimatic. But that's the point, yes? Everything just oozes together, and no tune competes for attention. IMO that's how a downtempo, chill set should be.
The one thing that was a bit off was the Brass Monkey tune. From a listener's viewpoint, it deviated from the sorta Mushroom Jazz sound. Maybe that's when your cloudiness dissippated a bit hahah.
To be honest, I was expecting Moodyman, Holder, Timewriter, Herbert, etc. all the staples. Why do you never join in on the house discussions?
We could learn a thing or two.
I've never heard a set from you. Make sure to give me a tap on the shoulder to listen to your next
Oh yeah, this would be a great intro for any TA's wanting to venture in the lavish, languid world of HOUSE!
this is a gorgeous set. i'm on my 2nd listen today.
i love that this set is full of tunes i've never heard before, and it's a big change from what i usually listen to, but it's not so different to the point of being too weird or unaccessible. most deep house sets i've listened to just bored me to death, but this one stays interesting all the way through. it's chill without being too chill, deep without being too deep, and just melodic and funky enough to keep me groovin' to it. i know you say this isn't "dance floor" material, but i could see myself with a cool drink in my hand and moving languidly and sexily to it on a dimly-lit patio looking out over a beach on a hot summer night.
my initial comparison on first listen was that i thought it sounded a lot like the Zabiela & Fanciulli WMC Promo... it's just got a similar vibe, but the style and track selection make it different enough to be very original sounding.
the mixing is great, track selection is outstanding, and the programming seriously blows me away... everything seems to flow so well together, and it seems like all the tracks were played at just the right moment... especially Fresh 27 - Point of View (Original Mix JS Edit). i think the vocals really stand out and work quite well at that point of the set. you also did a great job with selecting the perfect tracks to begin and end the set with, and you know i'm totally picky about stuff like that. for someone who has never put together a set like this, i think you did an outstanding job.
in fact, this is probably my favorite set of yours since Clarity Through The Fog. it just sounds more personal than anything you've put together since then... not to imply that your other sets were bad or impersonal, it just feels like you put more of yourself into this one... and i absolutely LOVE that feeling.
your talents continue to amaze me, sweetheart. i am very proud (and jealous!) of you. ![]()
move your body next to mine... move your body next to mine...
Very cool tracklist Rob, downloading now
Yes. It's definately dancable. With a pole that is.
Well I took your advice. Popped a vic and had some jack and coke. (i dont have any pot
) and listened. It was great, my only complaint is the very last song, which I didn't care for at all. IMO you should have ended it at track 10. Track 9
For any who wants a similar style mix, I just listened to this today also:

I got baked and had a reasonably long busride this evening, so I listened to your mix in full. I really liked the nature of the tracks, the opener was nice. Ironic that I was sitting on the bus for that Get On The Bus track...haha. And I love Point Of View aswell...seems to reflect your situation when approaching this mix
The flow of the mix was good, but sometimes I felt like it was compromised by mixes that were a little late? I'm not sure, cause none of the mixes are bad at all, just I feel some of them bring the energy down just a tad between tracks. Thats my only issue, I also heard one minor slip but it was nothing bad at all and you caught it in an instant.
I enjoyed this most because I had not heard most of those tracks, and because it was a departure from what I usually expect from RJT, unlike apologies
I knew you'd bounce back with something fresh!

ok i listened to it, it was good, but it made me sleepy.
i think that was the point tho
so good mix
getting it now, gonna listen
Holy damn, this is one of the best TA mix I've heard this year. I'm usually not a fan of deep house because it's usually very monotone and progresses slowly only to provide that chill effect. Although chill will always have a place in the scene, it's just not something I would listen to if I want an instant sonic rush. This mix however did the opposite, it fuses the deep house sound with shots of adrenaline found in more popular forms of house.
The intro although weird initially, provided a good launching pad for the assault to come. The tracks not only had subtle energy in them, but the funkiness level is just right to please most casual listeners of house as well as hardcore house junkies alike. The transitions are not only spot on, but it makes you anxious for what's coming around the corner. This is perhaps one of the hardest things for a DJ to do, grab the listener's attention and not let go. I'm a melody and bassline person as you can tell if you've listened to my works and for a deep house album to provide this much lucious melody is very rare and I absolutely love it! Even the best songs in the world cannot create this type of magic without the right layout and special touch and this mix definitely has it.
The only complaint I have is the ending which deviates from the overall sound of the mix.
This is my first time listening to your work and I am officially a fan. Very very impressive mix to a very critical listener.

I'd been seeing it in your sig for a while. And today it finally made sense.
Mono!!! With the gramophone! LOLorz
Hope you're feeling better. I'm taking a listen now.
Just put this on today for the first time in months, and liked it so much I had to bump this thread out of oblivion
I can not get enough of track 9 - Fresh 27 - Point of View (Original Mix JS Edit) !!
Whens your next mix coming out rjt ?
I haven't listened to this but Jimpster's remix of Da Ride is so fuckin good. It's a perfect example of the type of house that I'm playing now.
Looking forward to listening to this when I get home.
