Gerrard is a legend.

He should be england captain no doubt about it. People talk about rooney..and how great he is. They have no idea how absolutely massive gerrard is as a player.

Hes 2nd goal was easily the best goal in the history of the fa cup final. To do it in extra time when liverpool were dead and buried. I was almost to tears. Istanbul 2. Kinda drunk..but me mates drank most of the JD and hes actually dancing with nothing but a liverpool shirt on his kitchen table right now!!!!!

Best FA CUP final i've witnessed.Not the best liverpool game..but this match had everything.

Seriously, very entertaining match, altho the extra-time was kinda pointless (except for that brilliant Reina save and West Ham miss), players were nearly dead already. Major respect for Gerrard, scoring such a great long shot 2 minutes after having the cramps was definitely something.

West Ham's approach to the start of the game was great too, they could be the underdogs but didn't give a fuck about it and had all the ball up to their second goal. Very good game by Benayoun too.

Take a serious look at Gerrard during England games. He's never on top form. It could be the pressure, which is understandable, but England captain? Absolutely not. John Terry or Sal Campbell should have that distinction, certainly not Beckham or Rooney, Owen, etc.

Anyway, twas a great match. I dislike penalties, but thrilling nonetheless. Too bad for West Ham though...bloody Liverpool!

If Gerrard has underperformed in internationals in the past he can't help but have matured over the past few years after standing tall in Champions Leage and Fa Cup finals. I am impressed with him. No doubt about it it he gets the job done.

And I agree with Michael19, Sol Campbell ain't captain material, definately not Rooney either.

Gerrard is the man. Terry doesnt have what it takes cause frankly..hes surrounded by naturally good players around him and that makes him look good.Thats why i dont understand why people rate lampard.

How many times have u seen this lad carry liverpool all by himself.

Hes had a "breakdown" a few months ago. since he has come back hes been shit. If starts against Barca on wednesday expect him to fuck up at least once. Hes the new Mikeal slyvestre.

He shouldnt of even been picked for the World cup squad. England are sorted in defence though. Baring a terrible injury run he wont get anywhere near the team*

*well, with sven as manager i suppose you never know, but a decent manager wouldnt have him near it.
