Can I?
Lobby for NYTA Mod here? It is a suggestion afterall =P
YES, please. we very much do need a mod for NYTA and mr. nyce has a been a member for quite some time now, fully knowing the ambience and many, many members of the NYTA community and i firmly believe he's the choice of a new generation.
peapod, i know you're up to no good, YOU SHOULD BE NYTA MOD!
by supporting my efforts, she is in turn blackmailing me with her trickery to lure me out to the clubs. i know it! i already feel like a victim of the peapod master plan!
LUNASEA FOR NYTA MOD!
ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

LUNASEA FOR MOD
i vote kidnyce (brian chin) for nyta mods.
mr.chin is sociable, responsible and is an active member of the ny trance scene, promoting shows such as TSFT.
it seems ian (redeye) is really busy these days so maybe it's a good time for someone else to take the responsibility.
it just seems really weird for a community as large as NYTA to be unregulated for such a long time... that you have recent threads like the Marka trolling, become so big. With an inactive mod, you have losers like him and others to become assholes, and make posting in NYTA section a negative experience.

Luna makes a really good MOD! I would accept the responsibility but I think luna's opinion is just as worthy as mines!
PEAPOD ALLIANCE for NYTA MOD!
I'll do it. you need somebody cold, heartless, not afraid to take the hard decisions & give a crap what people think!
i agree with this, i think NYTA needs a new mod or a 2nd mod to help out when redeye is not about
Redeye does still visit the boards, his last login was only a couple of days ago, but yeah i think NYTA needs at least to have a 2nd mod.

Aside from that recent fiasco with the Marak5 whoring thread, I don't really think that NYTA needs a moderator. I think anyone who is a member of the community and who isn't coming from outside like Marak5 was understand when an argument will pop up, and how to deal with it. I think part of the problem was that Marak5 made some posts that offended the sensibilities of certain NYTAs, and they took it out on him in a childish, angry way... but that doesn't mean that we need extra oversight on our forum.
The real question, I think, is what would such a moderator do? The reason why I state this is that objectivity is a very difficult thing to achieve, and I'm not even sure if such a thing is in a moderator's job description. So, would he close angry threads that contain flame wars? Would he close any 'Tiesto Sucks' or 'JP Sucks' threads --- those are damn popular on the NYTA board. Would he close threads that seem to be unneccessary? The conclusion that I draw from these questions is that I think that the closure of such threads will cause more harm than good by simply a) redirecting the anger of the arguing parties toward the moderator b) making it seem like the moderator supports the 'tiesto sucks' threads that he leaves open and opposes the ones that he closes c) leave the option that some of the threads that he deemed 'unneccessary', actuall turn out to be interesting for all involved.
That's just what I think, and I don't believe that one fierce argument regarding Marak5 should change what I see as a smoothly operating forum.

Thanks Pork!!!
Keepingitreal - You are misinformed, I'm no longer a "main man" behind TFST, I support them but I have no working affiliation with TFST. They are my friends, I hang out with them and I offer my service as they need. I do not play any role in organizing events or coordinating publicity for them. DJ Tek does it well himself as well as the rest of the TFST.NYC Krew, they hold their own.
And if you continue reading the thread located in NYTA, there is vested interest outside of the party scene to elaborate on what the true new york environment is about. Read the thread and you'll find a surplus of knowledge being promoted outside of the music scene. We are normal people too, not all of us are strictly clubheads. Some with careers, others with hobbies, a message board is a medium of communication, a community in which we've established an identity, I think we could make it more thats all =)
i pay for kidnyce's services
hehe, sorry! one track mind..

I guess it's typical, now that the "heat" has blown over, we'll resume unmodded. but for the sake of future reoccurances i suggest we continue to look a mod who'll assist redeye. I still think NYTA is lacking traffic for such a big city even though our core group of members still linger, we can do better for such a large area. Hope talks continue and the topic doesn't blow over like the countless amounts of times prior to this one.
