Squads to be added here when they're available, if I can be arsed. We're announcing ours in.. 40 minutes time. Apparently the news Ricardo Quaresma is on the squad (meaning he doesn't go to the world cup) have leaked and our FC Porto president has already made a pissed off statement to the press. More to follow.

Quaresma! Noooo my fav portugese player

Go Italy I guess shame that Switzerland isnt in it but most of the players who won the U-17 are in the First Team for the Nation now

Posted by noikeee on May-13-2006 19:22:

Goalies: Bruno Vale (E. Amadora), Daniel Fernandes (PAOK/Greece), Paulo Ribeiro (FC Porto)

Defenders: Jos Castro (Acadmica), Semedo (Feirense), Nlson (Benfica), Nuno Morais (Martimo), Pedro Ribeiro (FC Porto), Rolando (Belenenses), Bruno Amaro (Gil Vicente)

Midfielders: Custdio (Sporting), Diogo Valente (Boavista), Joo Moutinho (Sporting), Manuel Fernandes (Benfica), Raul Meireles (FC Porto), Filipe Oliveira (Martimo), Nani (Sporting), Quaresma (FC Porto)

Forwards: Hugo Almeida (FC Porto), Loureno (U. Leiria), Vaz Te (Bolton/England), Varela (V.Setbal)

Yep, Quaresma, Moutinho and Manuel Fernandes appear to be out of the World Cup.

We have an outstanding team from the midfield upfront, plus a great centreback which is Z Castro, but the Euro should be quite even and things can go wrong.

Posted by InterMilan31 on May-13-2006 19:27:

your midfield is fucking sick bro. I say Portugal will be sick in a few years not that they arent now

Moutinho/Fernandes/Quaresma/Ronaldo is probably going to be the best midfield ever

quaresma sucks, i don't know what you guys like in him

good luck portugal

Starting tomorrow.

Judging by recent press conferences, our team is over-confident as fuck. France fucking us up deeply is a possibility.

Can't be arsed to put up squads, sorry. There's a fantasy football league on uefa.com for this, you can see the squads there for example. If you want to join, here's the TA league code: 2950-577

go search for some videos of him.

he's not the most efficient or consistent player in the world, but comes up with some awesome trickery at times, sometimes leading to brilliant goals. that's what the people like!

he's perhaps almost as naturally talented as Cristiano Ronaldo and only isn't up there cause of attitude.

Posted by InterMilan31 on May-22-2006 21:44:

not gonna join mate U-21 fantasy really doesnt get me hard so to speak

My pick is Portugal - Italy finale
Portugal to win

Also paradork what do you think of Anderson of Porto and Fernandes of Benfica both are targets of the 2 Milanese clubs

Stop calling me paradork you twat.

Anderson was branded as the "new Ronaldinho" when he arrived from Brazil, and that's usually complete bullshit, but this time I'm thinking the guy is the real deal. Very impressive the last couple of matches, it's obvious he has a huge natural talent. Next season is going to be crucial for his development tho.

Manuel Fernandes has shown lots of potential too, but been a bit inconsistent this season. Had some physical problems and still isn't a key player at Benfica. I'm almost sure he'll become a very good player, but maybe not world class.

About half the brazilians who come from brazil to europe are called the new Pele.

woohoo, i predicted the future

what a dreadful performance. when will they learn hitting long balls to Hugo Almeida all match isn't the best way to perform when the team is supposedly full of creative players.

Posted by nettwerk on May-23-2006 23:28:

Quaresma performed poorly, the rest of the team performed poorly. Next two matches are crucial now, if we don't get two wins in the next two games we're a bit screwed...

Posted by noikeee on May-24-2006 20:51:

seems like Italy-Denmark was a very entertaining match!

too bad tv is only showing our matches.

Posted by zoric on May-24-2006 21:36:

I didn't get the Serbia-match, but doesn't matter, We lost.

Hope we'll come up because we've got a very strong team in those Championships..

Posted by Elior on May-25-2006 11:23:

Yep, the Italy - Denmark was football at it best imo. Havn't had fun watching a game (on TV of course ) like this for ages.

6 goals, great new players to watch in the coming years, and overall great football.

I'll sure be watching Germany - France today, I hope it'll be entertaining

What other game is played today btw?
