Croatia
i have been thinking of changing the yearly ibiza trip, to somewhere i havent been , and croatia was one of my options . I have heard alot about it recently , if someone can give me info on it , hotels , nightlife , must see sites ..... everything .
and personal experiences will be helpful as well
info is appreciated
Croatia's a very nice place. I didn't do much clubbing though, just hung out in a little town called Omis. It's a half hour down the coast from Split (a very popular resort town for thousands of years - the Roman emperor Diocletian built a summer palace there and the city basically surrounds it). The one evening I spent in Split was really fun, there were lots of people and some really cool bars near the palace. I also did some canyoning down near Omis, the mountains are quite stunning. Food is delicious and cheap compared to the rest of Europe, much cheaper than Ibiza I imagine. There are hundreds - if not thousands, of islands to explore right off the coast. Oh, and the women are beautiful.
i live on the border with croatia on the south near old city Dubrovnik, all i can say here is beautifull, try to google about it and find some pictures you'll be amazed
Croatia has the best coastline in europe IMO
absolutely stunning
this is a picture my friend took while he was on vacation in Makarska in 2004

cool , thanx for this info.
Can someone please tell me how its like in the summer in terms of , partying , weather , major events or festivals , when is the best month to go , and what is the best part to stay in ?
the site seeing and relaxation part , is taken care of , but how is the nightlife there ?
again , thanx for the info
woot im goin to croatia this year!
I live in Croatia, but not on the seaside...
It's a great place for summer vacation, but trust me, you wouldn't wanna be here all year.
i used to live in Croatia. Its a nice place. I never went to any clubs though.
It is very difficult to answer you, as there is at least 1000 km of Croatian coast plus houndreds of islands. You should check HERE -their national touristic organisation web site, and there are lots of croatian sites of tourism LIKE HERE and you can also find pictures HERE for example.
You'd like to travel along the coast, or you would like to spent a week or two in the same place.
For young people I would racomend next villages /towns ( from N to S):
Pula, Island Pag, Zadar, Sibenik, Trogir, Split, Bol on Brac isle, isle Hvar and of course Dubrovnik,....and more...
Its a nice place but I dont like the people thats why I never go there.. Most of them are pure idiots.

Dont make jokes about Slovenia, you aint funny. Im not envious because of your coast, personally I would never want to live there because of people like you, I just always wondered how people can say Slovenians are gay when 80% of the nation goes to Croatia on vacations and leaves their money there. And yes, they are gays in my opinion because they go on vacations somewhere where people have no respect for them and still depend on them.
You should come to Macedonia.. the clubbing life is the BEST on the Balkans (after Greece).. Last year we got to see Christopher Lawrance, Tiesto, Sasha, Carl Cox, Matthew Dekay, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Sandra Collins, Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez and others. This year should be crazier.

But, If you decide to go to Croatia, go to Hvar. I will be there in June so we can have TA-parties, if there are more TAs!
Nec, all those things you're saying about Croatians... We Croatians can say them about you Slovenians as well. And it's an endless circle, we simply don't like each other and it should stop at that. You probably had a few bad experiences with Croatians but that doesn't give you right to generalise how all Croatians are assholes, idiots and such. Really, think about it.
(Kako Slovenci igraju picigin? S putovnicama.

Come on guys.. We used to be brothers and now we are fighting eachother!
Go there
If you like gipsys
Hello Qussay!
I'm sure you will enjoy your holliday in Croatia.
If you are planing to rent a boat and to visit islands, I would consider you to visit the Kornati islands.
And guys from Croatia why don't you promote your country and explain the things and inform the people that would like to visit your country, instead of replying on such nonsence provocations! Even one didn't answer the thread. By the way Slovenia has 47 km of coast.
And for the posters from Slovenia there is a lot of shit like this on Slovenian forums, so there is no need to let the people over the world think what a primitives we are.

Well, from what Ive heard is that Croatia did a nice job with thier tourism, its not just Croatias coast. The Adriatic sea is nice in general. Even Albania, the poorest country in the Balkans has a nice coast. You wont hear alot about it because its un developed and not alot of people put money into it. But who cares anyways? As long as the place is nice to enjoy, nothing matters.
I do have a few friends from Croatia, and they are really nice people, but I cant speak in general.
