Those Using CDJ800/1000

how many of you guys use the Master Tempo button?

Posted by Jeremy H on May-14-2006 11:44:

The master tempo is useful when playing RnB and such.. but I dont like it since it makes the kicks sound all muddy =/

Posted by simms327 on May-14-2006 15:36:

i use it.

no

Posted by wizniz on May-14-2006 16:49:

yes but i make it a rule not to go past 6%.

if i must, i turn it off.

when i use it...the crowd doesn't really know but i can hear that it sounds pretty wierd especially at plus 10%...so I am on and off about using it..

Posted by Greedy on May-14-2006 17:42:

it depends on the track.

Posted by Clovis on May-14-2006 18:29:

I use it within +/- 5%, after that it fucks up the track. Depends on the track too. I like the fact that it makes platter adjustments go un-noticed...

I don't see how it would mess a track up...isn't it supposed to keep the original pitch at any tempo?

Past a certain % of correction (the manual says +/-6%) it just cant work its magic anymore. I've found that the lows start to get a little muddy over 4-5%, so thats where I set my own limit.

I don't use it; never had a use for it.

never

pitching up usually adds a little more punch and bite to the track

there are some songs i only play pitched up

nope.
used to when i had my 100s but then realized it makes it sound weird, so i dont anymore.
