Should you start a review thread if you were not at the party?
Should you start a review thread if you did not attend the party?
I am also guilty of this once upon a time (special occation).
haha i think you have done that before. I would
I think you can.
Why? Because most likely, you're pissed off about the reason why you couldn't/shouldn't/didn't go.
As long as you aren't lying about a party you never went to, I don't see any harm.
Besides, sometimes it's a good idea to start one if you hadn't gone. Look at sonic's opening night review thread. If we'd waited for all the people who actually got in to give a review, the frustration that needed to be said about the lineup problems wouldn't have been as prominent or severe. I'm all for it, just don't make an ass of yourself by saying 'Ohh Sharam killed it' at a deep dish party when he didn't make his plane.
review thread?
lex
Voted no.
If you didn't go, fuck you, you can't review. The review is of the party, not the cab ride there or the wait outside.
And ahahahahahah, at the last post option! I know who that's reserved for, LOL!
wow, pretty telling votes already.
no, so annoying.
except people who post that didnt get in should be allowed to because they were actually going to the party. Not sitting around in their underwear.

If you honestly give a shit who started the review, you need to find a hobby or something. it's a thread. who cares?

i think anyone should be allowed to start a review thread, just as anyone could start a roll call (even if they arent attending)

I don't really care all that much who starts the thread, but people who come into the reviews who weren't at the party to yammer on about nothing annoy me (I don't mean those that post and say "awe sounds like I missed a great night", I mean the ones that start talking like they are on MSN and bring up other parties that have no reference to the one just had)
"Like OMG I wish I was there! Sounds like an amazing time! Almost like the time when 8yrs ago ___ and ___ were at a house party and ___ did this? Wasn't that so awesome!
OMGWTFBBQ!"
Ensue 8 pages of reply conversation completely obliterating the actual review thread...

I don't see the harm.
People start threads about things they've been to all the time, not just parties.
I'd only do it if I really wanted to go the event, but couldn't, and was genuinely interested in how it went.
Where's the stigma in that?
Honestly folks, we're all adults here...do you really care so much about message board etiquette?
Especially something as insignificant as this...jeez.
Karen, I agree with you. Much of what's being said on TOTA lately could easily be taken to MSN. I find it super annoying to see what people really have to say since I need to skim over the useless stuff too.

My vote is for no. You weren't there, how can you review it? That is all.
