PS3 Pre-order?

Hey anyone know of a store in NYC that is doing pre-orders on PS3?

Thanks!

Posted by BiG MiKE on May-14-2006 23:19:

Originally EBgames told me that Pre-orders would begin at the end of the week. Now they're saying at end of the month. I say wait until you hear something from a site like IGN.com to reveal the info.

Thank you!

Muahaha, if I want the PS3, and I have the money for it... Ill get it like 2-3 weeks before it comes out in stores.

How? Well its all the perks of working in electronics, with wholesalers. And no... its not a pre-order and its not like a pre-order, the wholesaler gets them, and it gets delivered to my store with my name on it.

I am the winner - be jealous!

Im gonna get 4 of them at the same time, so then i can sell them for over $1k to idiots

Likewise :-D God bless Ebay.

Just pre-ordered my first one. I'll probably try to get the others at stores around the city as well as China/Japan based sites since it'll be released and shipped a week before the US.

yea but what about the coding, isn't it different here in the states? i remember i had a japanese ps1 it wouldn't play US games

As long as you can get the device on the first night, then you're fine. If anyday after, you won't do so hot on selling them away.

Preordered 3 from EBX in stamford, CT i dont think they are taking preorders from customers though but since im good friends with the manager a Armin fan(I hate trance but dl all ASOT episodes for him and get perks for it) Im the first name down for 3 so far

Was I the only one that got in on the 360 rush? I sold 1 and kept the other because I made enough to cover both.

Posted by madliquid on May-15-2006 04:33:

we were selling 360s in the back of our car outside EB games last winter... i think everyone was desperate for melting plastic even the 360 in EB games started boiling the plastic on the front, it was pathetic to see everyone pile in for the 360

offtopic: last weekend I spoke with two of the game designers for 360 and they even admitted their games lacked a plot

As far as I know PS3's, just like PSP's are region free. Won't matter once I sell them though. All sales are final! No returns, no refunds!

Why do you say that? I'm looking to sell them on Ebay ideally, right before Xmas when people are desperate and kids are whining to their parents about how PS3 is the only thing they want from Santa. As long as they're all out of stock by then I'll be okay. I wouldn't even sell it to a friend or relative for less than double price

There's no telling when the second shipment will be coming in. The case is usually that the people that really want and need the console will either stand on line and purchase it then or buy it off ebay during the first few nights. After the first shipment, the stores should be seeing more regular shipments of the consoles. If that's the case then the prices will dip fairly low on ebay. If the console is released in early November, the holiday season might see a normal amount of units in stores. This whole thing is unpredictable, to be honest.

That's pretty dick of you if you wouldn't cut a close person some slack.

I see I see. I'll definately keep that in mind. Honestly I'm planning a trip to Tokyo right before Xmas lasting into the beginning of January (unless there are some seriously bangin' DJ's in NYC) and I want to rack in some extra spending money before I leave.

As for cutting people some slack ... eeh, I guess I'll see how things are in November. Only thing I'm really concerned about is the PS3's that I will have to physically pick up from the game stores and saftely make it back home with .

Bring a box from some other object that's big enough to hold the PS3(s + games + accessories). I was first on the list for 360's at the local Circuit City for the second shipment so when they received them they called me in and handed me a random torn open box with the 360 in it. Pandemonium if people saw what it was.

I wonder how PS3 will prevent game piracy on this system. I guess it will reduce the rate because the Blue Ray Disc is like over 9GB right?

Someone will more than likely find a way to use that Linux homebrew opportunity to h4x.
