DJ Rankin - The Truth! (Fake Artist Exposed)

For those of you who live in the UK you may know of a "dj" called dj Rankin. You may even have a little sister who listens to his noise with her friends or you may be sad enough to listen to him yourself.

Wikipedia.com defines Dj Rankin as:

DJ Rankin (real name Gordon Rankin) is a Scottish Chipmunk DJ and dance music artist, who is particularly popular amongst teenagers in Scotland, Ireland and the north of England. His musical styles vary from Trance to Happy Hardcore. He has gained notoriety through his use of the internet, particularly peer to peer file sharing services as a way of distributing his music. He has a large fanbase, which he has gained through conning fans into thinking he makes songs; these songs are in fact songs made by other people, that he has renamed

To counteract the frequent criticism he encounters, in 2005 DJ Rankin began work on an album of original material. The release date was originally set as January 30th 2006, but as yet it has not materialised.

A message was posted on DJ Rankin's website in 2006 claiming the album had been delayed 'due to a change of studio and management' although it is widely believed the true reason was a dispute between DJ Rankin and the studio when his album was being created over unpaid studio fees which has apparently led to court proceedings.

Examples of the new 'original' material which he posted on his website still contained uncleared samples from other songs, such as the vocal part from 'Summer Jam' by 'Underdog Project'. It has also been claimed by some that the quality of the production of this material wasn't of a high enough standard for commercial release.
