FUTURE CLUB @ CYBER NIGHTCLUB

with...

Greg Downey- UK

www.gregdowney.com

(Discover/ Discover Dark)

'Greg Downey is one of the shining stars of the UK Trance scene right now. His consistent, high quality production really stands out when you hear it in a club and his skills on the decks make him a truly versatile DJ who will always deliver regardless of which slot he is allocated.' - John Askew

Greg Downey began DJing over 6 years ago and in this time has established himself firmly among the best young DJs in the UK. Born in Belfast - Ireland, Greg developed a taste for tougher electronic dance music from a young age. This is reflected in his style which combines underground and uplifting trance with elements of techno.

Greg's first big break came when he was spotted DJing at an after club in Ibiza in 2000 by the Gatecrasher Ibiza promoter. He was immediately asked to play for them at the legendary Space club. From there things went from strength to strength. Greg won the prestigious DJ competition held by superclub Eden and went on to play for Euphoria and Tonic at Eden, Sundissential, Storm and the massive MTV Medonism Festival. The result was a featured article in Mixmag highlighting Greg as one of the hottest young DJs around.

Back in Ireland more success followed with Greg winning Ireland's BBM Magazine DJ Competition. This led onto bookings at some of the biggest clubs there, including The Coach and The Network and Greg then received a full-page feature in The Sunday Life, Ireland's biggest newspaper.

Having established a strong following in his home country, Greg made the short overseas trip to England, where he is now based. Previously resident at the massive Scream events in Bristol, Greg is now playing at some of the biggest nights throughout the UK. His unique trance sound has impressed both clubbers and promoters up and down the country and 2006 will see continued support from Serious, The Gallery, The Escape, The Coach, along with many others as the interest in Greg continues to grow.

In 2005 Greg was signed exclusively to John Askew's Discover label which he now does extensive work for. His debut releases and remixes have stamped his name as one of the most exciting new trance producers in the scene with support from many of the world's leading DJ's including Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Matt Hardwick and John Askew himself.

Greg has a heavy production schedule ahead for 2006 with many solo projects as well as collaborations with John O'Callaghan, Marc van Linden and John Askew. Later in the year Greg will be recording his first live album direct from one of the UK's leading nights. This is not to be missed as Greg unleashes his driving trance sound on the public!

At only 23 years of age, Greg's many achievements alongside his outstanding technical ability and desire to succeed, will make 2006 a massive year for him....

'Greg Downey - remember the name. Greg is a DJ that sets the standard for others to follow. His mixing is seamless, his tune selection flawless and with his productions consistently in the boxes of Paul Van Dyk and John Askew it won't be long till everyone knows the name.'- Simon Patterson aka Dogzilla

'As a promoter you come across more DJs than most, some are put on you by forceful agents and some just pester you off their own back, then there are the others that promote themselves as headliners, yeah... Greg Downey stands head and shoulders above them all - easily, my advice, book him before his fee goes through the roof, he is the genuine article, by a long shot...'- Louis Gee - Scream Promoter.

KarateKid btw...

"Future Club" is a new concept I'm working on that will involve bringing in fresh and talented DJs at a VERY reasonable price. Basically you will get to hear the best unreleased/up front trance music from the producers/djs who actually make the music themselves.

Full details on all of this will be done very soon

You have to love a guy who has tracks called "Bodycheck" and "The Instigator" in his record case. I think that almost makes him an honorary Canadian.
