i presume you've messed up 'lucky' in translation. With gerrard, everything is meant that comes off. He's the man who'll win england the world cup, not rooney imo

Rooney is awesome player but i doubt if he plays well after his long injury.

England are in big trouble without a quality striker. Let's hope Gerrard and Lampard do well.

Steven Gerrard is the sort of player who kicks goals when in right moment, if you search some of his goals they are pretty similar how he is always around the box just launching them in and lucky theres no one in the way at most times. I give him credit though for having great accuracy and actually making them count. Definatley a team leader.

That being said i think he is a great player but can he win England the world cup? If he can create shots like he does in premier league it might be worthy to England but can he cope with world cup pressure? Was he picked for 2002 wc?

I dont think so. IMO, despite the england squad being termed every major tournament by the media as the best chance england have of winning the tournament, this year i beleive they do.

Compare the team Sven's taking to germany with this one that he took to korea in 2002:

1 SEAMAN David (GK)
2 MILLS Danny
3 COLE Ashley
4 SINCLAIR Trevor
5 FERDINAND Rio
6 CAMPBELL Sol
7 BECKHAM David
8 SCHOLES Paul
9 FOWLER Robbie
10 OWEN Michael
11 HESKEY Emile
12 BROWN Wes
13 MARTYN Nigel (GK)
14 BRIDGE Wayne
15 KEOWN Martin
16 SOUTHGATE Gareth
17 SHERINGHAM Teddy
18 HARGREAVES Owen
19 COLE Joe
20 VASSELL Darius
21 BUTT Nicky
22 JAMES David (GK)
23 DYER Kieron

I think so to. Rooney is still young but has the same drive that gerrard does to success and it will only develop over the course of time. Its amazing seeing these 2 all over the pitch over 90 minutes, lifting the spirits of the rest of the team in the process.

Ps: If england win the world cup, will walcott be allowed to join the champagne celebrations????

He was injured a few weeks before it.

England need both Rooney and Gerrard imo.

yeah what a great goal, it goes like a bullet.

If england want the best out of gerrard they need to play 5 in the midfield.

Carrick has to play the hamann role. Let lampard and gerrard run free without having to worry to much about defending. Gerrard and lampard together in a midfielder 4 havent impressed me.
