I like breaks as well and a tad of Drum and Bass every now and then. As far as "other" music, I'll say D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Outkast (the ONLY hip hop out there worth a listen), and Oasis top my list. I know, I know... "D'Angelo? Jill Scott?" Well, they represent alot of the ideals I do so the is a connection. Plus the have heart in their songs. Sorry to any rap people, but I'm a middle-class white guy from NC, so all the songs about violence to get "bling-bling" or Bragging about it... I just don't connect with the negativity or self-rightiousness. Which is not to say that is wrong, I just don't see myself in their words. Outkast and Common are the exception.

I agree with your post by the way, some people don't appreciate musical talent. Even though R&B and Rap is not my music of choice, I can really appreciate the extraordinary talent of D'Angelo and Outkast for instance.

MAXWELL is pure genious too. His first and 2nd albums at least.

but Rap & R&B is not my thing....maybe old school rap when it was worth listening to but now its all crap

well actually right now i am listening to Outkast on Saturday Night Live and i like them....they dont rap about
"Bling Bling Platinum Mercedes Yo Yo Benz" stuff...and i saw them on MTV's cribs and when one of them was tlaking about his cars...he showed his Merecedes and said soemthing like this"ya i have a Mercedes and i bling bling a little but I DONT NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT ALL DAY IN MY LYRICS"...he said something like that...meaning - YES he has all the bling bling but doesnt need to rap about it and rap is more then the money....i liked that

Yea Outkast is cool. I watched them for about 20 minutes last July when the Area 1 festival was here in massachusetts. I liked them, but then I left because Carl Cox was gonna came on
