thinking of getting a new mixer..

well.. w/ tax returns coming in about a month.. im thinking of getting a new mixer because my adj mixer is starting to crap out.. i know its only the cross-fader thats shitting out and it could be cheaply fixed but i've been thinking about getting a new one.. w/ some better functions (or at least some kills) all i've got on my mixer is eq's and the standard cue splits/pans ..etc.. i have my eye set on the pioneer djm-500 but its freaking expensive.. the cheapest i've found it is $799.. i want something near that calibur but i don't want to shell out that much money.. i was hoping to spend a little closer to like 350-450

Vestax PCV-275 is one option you must consider. One very well made and top quality sound and build.

i've heard that vestax equipment is all about paying for the name.. and that they are not built to last.. i had a buddy that had a vestax -06 (or something or other, i knew it had an 06 in the model #) and the crossfader and cue pan broke after about 7 months and vestax are not cheap to repair.. someone told me to just buy a higher end american dj mixer because they are not too bad and when they break, they can be repaired easily and cheaply because the parts aren't too expensive.. i dunno

Vestax are quality and MADE to LAST..
the sound quality is even as good as build quality..!
There are lots of stories of any products of any company out there where products are not working properly. But its very uncommon for Vestax, it would be more common in American DJ.

hey hapa check out www.sixstardj.com since you're from so cali. they have great on-line prices and better in-store prices and sometimes even better if you bring cash. they're located on alameda street so mos def check them out before you buy anything and they're usually pretty good about matching lowest price. check them out and see what you can find. get the address from the website. i believe they're on alameda st. cheers!

i hope their instore prices w/ cash are much better than their online prices because for the pioneer djm-500 the price is $989 and you can find the djm-600 for that price! but good lookin-out

Hapamoto: For sure, with SixStar go in person and bargain with them. That's where I bought all my equipment from and the internet prices are much higher than in-store pricing.
