Cheers guys !

Hope it's up to scratch .

Talking

It's up to scratch like a rash!

Really though, it's great. I like the piano tune that comes in around 8:30. It's really simple but moving. plus it has a lot of repitition of a certain theme, like it's a techno song played out on the piano.

Coded, having listented to all of the mixes you have posted here, multiple times, I believe I have a good feel for your chill out mixes. However, this one seems to stand apart from the rest. This different feel that I will attempt to place my finger on here, begins with the very first track. Excellent intro selection, as it really sets the mood for the rest of the cd, while easing in the listener. Upon my first listen of the mix, I absolutely hated the second track, however after a second listen, it grew on me. However, the intro and outro of the track are sudden, as the swirling loop cuts in and out. The piano layer on this track works great with the previous and next songs surrounding this track, and was wondering if you could perhaps loop the pianos somehow at the beginning and end of the track in order to give the mix a more fluid feel. That being said, the track is a genius selection, as the swirling melody makes me feel as if I am descending into your surreal atmosphere you have created in this mix. This atmosphere immediately makes me think of Cirque du Soleil, and its 'O'. The at times dark, and ever surreal atmosphere that you have hear truly parrallels that great show. The only other short comming (that I can think of right now at least), is the 4th or 5th track, which I believe has an accordian and an acoustic guitar. While I could see this track on your other mixes to date, I didn't feel it belonged in this mix. That being said, I believe this is your most focused effort, as far as nailing down a specific feel to your mix. I would most likely rate this as my second favorite mix of yours, behind First Winter. Looking forward to hearing more (yes I know I'm getting greedy).

Thanks for the in depth review kush. I always value your feedback . All the points you make I also agree with in retrospect but I suppose I always look back at a mix and wish I had done this and done that here and there. I try and grow with each mix both musically and technically so with that in mind I hope better is to come this year.

Thanks again !!

I also found I could not get any quality from commercial chill compilations as there seems to be nobody doing this type of chill out there that is widely known of. Thanks for supporting such beautiful music and lets hope it never stops being underground .

Yeah, what is the deal with the complete lack of decent chill mixes out there. Perhaps I'm in the dark, but the cafe del mars consistently have dark spots in nearly every mix, although bright one too, buddah bar is mediocre at best, let's not even get started on the rest on the crap you'd find at Best Buy and I'm grouping the perfecto chill mixes in there. Perhaps the only worthy effort I have witnessed outside of your mixes is Danny Howells 24:7 first disc. The problem I see is that there are hardly any focused efforts out there when it comes to a chill out mix. Rather, djs seem to be content mixing anything thats "chilled". To me at least, it sounds as horrendous as if some asshole mixed prog, electro, trance, techno, breaks, and dnb into one mix dubbing it a "dance mix". Anyways, clearly the subject gets me heated. Also, as long as I am ranting here in your thread, why are there so many mixes devoted to this solarstone chillout type music, and seemingly none devoted to a more strings and piano based mix as you have laid out throughout most of your mixes. Anyways, I can only hope that there's something I'm missing or perhaps some wise dj with enough pull can realize the huge market gap that is present and bring some decent chill out mixes to the scene, and most likely make some money at it as well.

okay.. i know i've heard the track at 25 minutes somewhere else.. anyone know where that might have been? i can't figure it out for the life of me..

btw.. coded.

love this mix. the sun's rising here and this is the perfect music to accompany it. thanks!

Hi Guster , thanks for the comments. The Bliss track is very well known so you may have even heard it in a movie or something. Great track though but I had to cut it after the intro as it goes a little pear shaped .

Agree with all of that. Have all the latest ibiza loungey type chill cd's as well but I find most of them are sitting in a kind of piano bar type sound which does not really turn me on to much.

Regarding a new mix I am putting together.

Expect some brilliant tracks !!!!

And I don't use the word lightly .
