I'd pay more to have him (or any dj I would go to see) if these promoters could pull of fri/sat gigs instead of middle of the week, or even worse, sundays..

The Venue would lose TONNES of money, fridays/saturdays are already busy, so they also bring them on days which have low turnout/poplarity boosting revenue. Thats also why at 2am-2:30am they boot everyone out, because they make money from booze which they are unable to sell after 2:00am, so why bother staying open..

Most of the DJ events are pretty good turnout, and also a lot of the "clubbers" are not in the know how for whats going on in calgary., they could show up at their fav club to find out that they have to pay 25 to get into a DJ event when they want to listen to the top 40.

Unfourtunatley i believe it always comes down to the $$$ side of things, but we do get some pretty sweet DJ's into calgs.

pretty sure this is false. its liquor control that prohibits people from being there past 3 am. Everybody must be out of the venue by then, which is why they shut down @ 2:45, and hope were gone by 3. The warehouse was grandfathered in, as was the cherry, but I think cherry lost theirs.

I don't know about Alberta, but in Ontario you can stay open as long as you want to. you just can't serve alcohol past 2am. I work in a club and if the party is bumpin', we'll stay open longer.

and since I'm not getting to Calgary until june 26th, I've sent a few friends to the event to tell me what it's like They bought their tickets today.

boodang and tantra are pieces of shit. i hope the money laundring ring gets busted and tantra burns to the ground. it would only be fair.

Bouncers asking the line for bribes to get in while they let in asians, short skirts and people who pay the $20 on top of their ticket. and it looks like they have all the good stampede shows too.

oh well, guess im gonna miss em all.

Was a great show from both DJs. Was first in line so had no problems ^_^ Never do when I show up early. That's a shame that the bouncers are being dicks like that, only figured they were like that durring the public non-event nights.

I noticed Cary Chang recorded his set onto his laptop. I hope he ups it somewhere with a TL, there are a few tracks I'd love to get.

Definately worth my 20 bucks. I met a bunch of new people and took alot of pics.

Great night but pretty f'in hot in there though =\

One of the best sets i have ever heard!! The 30 minutes i was just like "jesus what are these tracks" LOL then he hit galaxia and it was on for then on with the more known tunes. Awesome to hear verococha at the end!

But the amount of people and hotness was unbearable at that shit ass place!!

Next time you guys bring in ferry boodang at least rent the damn whiskey so we have a bigger dance floor. Or maybe not have a pub crawl that same fucking night?
