scratching

I want to scratch up a vocal in a track, what is the best way to do this? Using some sort of VSTi i presume, but which one?

if you are using fl, i can show you a hella scratch tutorial
if not, i don't know. i use glitch db vst to scratch small samples like a vocal phrase or beat. hope that helps

if you go to loop talk, search scratcher, and you will return the thread "love for fl scratcher" by spyro. the tutorial link at klanglabs is there. (the old link is dead but the site was http://klanglabs.siliconemusic.com/ ) oddly enough that's same site that has a vst scratcher and several other weird vsts.

the "ever" tutorial that spyro mentions in loop talk can be found on the web here http://www.asisphonics.net/news2006.html at the bottom.

the spyro tutorial can only be found through loop talk to reg fl users. the asisphonics site says they'll rehost spyro's tutorial soon.

hope that helps.

and of course, you can use wavetraveller to do that and more!

but to answer your question simply, in fl studio, just put the vocals in a wav file, load it to a sampler. assign that sampler to a channel. on that channel, put fruity scratcher as an effect. go to town, dude.
