Nothing says tolerance like making people wear badges identifing their religion....
oh my....
Should we be surprised coming from a holocaust denyer?
Unbeliveable!
So where are the Iranian apologists now??
(I have nothing against Iranians, just their wacked government btw).
Nice going there Iran. You must be modeling yourself after the old Afganistan in trying to become the biggest ass-backwards country in the world.
Hey, I know I'm all for them having nuclear capabilities....who's with me!?
Hm, that country gets crazier and crazier every day. Where's Bush's preemptive justice now that we need it? Seems he lost most of his steam back in Iraq...
Countries like Iran will never learn.

Iran report of Holocaust-style badges questioned 2006-05-19 12:01:29 The National Post is sending shockwaves across the country this morning with a report that Iran's Parliament has passed a law requiring mandatory Holocaust style badges to identify Jews and Christians. But independent reporter Meir Javedanfar, an Israeli Middle East expert who was born and raised in Tehran, says the report is false. "It's absolutely factually incorrect," he told The New 940 Montreal. "Nowhere in the law is there any talk of Jews and Christians having to wear different colours. I've checked it with sources both inside Iran and outside." "The Iranian people would never stand for it. The Iranian government wouldn't be stupid enough to do it." Political commentator and 940 Montreal host Beryl Waysman says the report is true, that the law was passed two years ago. "Jews should wear yellow strips, Christians red strips, because according to the Iranian mullahs, if a Mulsim shakes hands with a non-Muslim he becomes unclean." The National Post cites Iranian expatriots living in Canada as its primary source on the story. Bahahaaaa! Thank god they're not THAT freakin stupid over there!
Iran is digging their own grave.

Fucking shame that they made the supremeness of Persia into a country run by wackjobs, fucking Islam must be removed from a country that never started Islamic.
When Pahlavi had the chance he should have removed it.
I mean come on, how god damn stupid is this. We have Arab beliefs running a non arab country. What the hell is this world coming too.
No offence to arabs, but you guys don't deserve to have thrown your beliefs into Iran, these wackjobs are not even worthy of calling themselves Persian.

OMG IRAN HAS NUKES AND EXTREMISTS" crap because your making yourself look like a dumbass. Pfft.. Retard! |
How is he making himself look like a dumbass? I think that comparing thread from "before and after" was very interesting. Mainly because ALOT of people who have no sense of history (will not point any fingers here) don't even know anything about the nation.
I think it's ridiculous that people are only starting to talk about Iran being similar to the Nazis because of this. The Iranian regime has been executing homosexuals and opposition members, something I find much worse than requiring the local dhimmis to wear badges on their clothes.

| Newspaper apologizes for anti-Iran report OTTAWA, Canada (Reuters) -- A Canadian newspaper apologized Wednesday for an article that said Iran planned to force Jews and other religious minorities to wear distinctive clothing to distinguish themselves from Muslims. The National Post ran the piece on its front page Friday along with a large photo from 1944 that showed a Hungarian couple wearing the yellow stars that the Nazis forced Jews to sew to their clothing. The story, which included tough anti-Iran comments, was picked up widely by Web sites and by other media. "Is Iran turning into the new Nazi Germany? Share your opinion online," the paper asked readers Friday. But the National Post, a longtime supporter of Israel and critic of Tehran, admitted Wednesday it had not checked the piece thoroughly enough before running it. "It is now clear the story is not true," Douglas Kelly, the National Post's editor in chief, wrote in a long editorial on Page 2. "We apologize for the mistake and for the consternation it has caused not just National Post readers, but the broader public who read the story." The article was based on a column by Iranian expatriate writer Amir Taheri, who said a law being debated by Iran's parliament would force Jews to sew a yellow strip of cloth to their clothes. Christians would wear a red strip while Zoroastrians would wear a blue one. Iranian lawmakers, including the country's sole Jewish parliamentarian, have flatly denied the National Post story, saying there is no mention of discriminatory measures against religious minorities in a new dress code bill. The article and column appeared at a time when the international community is pressuring Tehran over its nuclear program. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also has sparked fears in the international community by denying the Holocaust, in which the Nazis killed 6 million Jews, and by calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map." Asked about the Post story last week, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Iran "is very capable of this kind of action." He added: "It boggles the mind that any regime on the face of the Earth would want to do anything that could remind people of Nazi Germany." A spokesman for Harper said the prime minister had started off his comments with the words "if this is true." But Iran summoned Canada's ambassador to Tehran to explain Harper's remarks, a diplomat said Wednesday. "Ambassador Gordon Venner was summoned on Sunday afternoon, May 21," a Canadian diplomat said. Diplomatic relations between Ottawa and Tehran have been icy since 2003 when Iranian-Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi died in custody in Tehran. Ottawa also has consistently taken a robust line on Iran's disputed atomic program. |
