My letter to Adam Vaughan who is running for ward 20 (entertainment district)

Dear Adam,

Congratulations on your decision on running for city council ward 20. I have watched your coverage of political issues for years. I definately agree with your idea of forcing city hall to be more accountable when it comes to finances in particular.

Since you are running for ward 20 I have a few area specific questions to ask.

1) How do you feel about part of the ward being designated as the entertainment district?

2) How can area business and residents reasonably coexist in the pursuit of their own interests? What are some ideas that you may have to help acheive this?

3) How would you advocate future planning and zoning for the region? Would you add more residential units to the area? Would you increase or decrease the amount of liquor licences?

4) Do you feel that large nightclubs and bars have a place in ward 20? Or anywhere in the city of Toronto for that matter?

Thanks for your response

I'd like to see how this one gets answered.

these are the kinds of questions trance addicts should be asking councillors in the wards they live in.

And then people should vote accordingly.

THIS is how you get these guys to listen to us instead of just the whiney NIMBYs.

I commend your taking the time and effort to question a candidate...it's more than most people do.

keep in mind that the state of the club district is not necessarily *the* priority for everyone...how about some non-club/entertainment questions for this candidate?

My main concerns with this particular ward is for my livlihood and how it would be affected.

Other questions will follow if my main concerns are answered to my satisfaction. If they are not, then i would not endorse him either way.

We need a pedestrian only street like they have in pretty much any other place in the world that calls itself a city. In the winter they could have a retractable enclosement for the softies that cant handle it. Even though NYC has several successful pedestrian only streets that operate year round.

1. definately

Idiot-speak for "definitely". One of the most common moronic misspellings found on the internet.

The new Backstreet Boys CD is, like, definately the best thing ever.
