Don't listen to those people, there are too many of them on here but i'll help you. Just to clarify anthem trance is basically the same thing as uplifting trance, but really it's just "epic trance" unless your talking about the really poppy euro dance/trance stuff, but thats not what you are looking for I gather (can't stand that stuff). Melodic trance is a check all for any trance with a melody really, and that is a lot. Uplifting and melodic are more ways to describe the sound then really an actual "sub genre" of trance, a lot of that is lumped into epic and prog...

Check out...

Arctic Quest - Femme Fatale, Renaissance
Dan Stone - Made in Bahrain
Fable - Above, Nightshift (Original & Re:Locate Remix)
Gerry Cueto - Blue (Activa Re-Work)
Kamil Polner - Feel Of Eternity
Micro de Govia - Vital Spark
Mr. Sam ft. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Lyteo (Rank 1 Remix)
Mark Thorton - Out Of Silence (Skyform & Spiral Motion Remix)
Defiance - A Dream Within A Dream, Between The Sea & The Sky

these are good epic trance tunes i'm currently liking (from listening to them on Beatport, some are from last year that I bought), a mix of really high energy and some dreamier. Depending on exactly what your looking for...also check out some stuff by Sander van Doorn if you like techier stuff. Go to Beatport, AudioJelly, Dance-Tunes, or TrackItDown for MP3s/WAVs, and you get previews, and you could check out Juno, Chemical Records or 4DJsOnly, they have previews of vinyl releases...I'm not as into epic as I used to be but I have discovered some pretty good tracks on BeatPort lately...

It's not as bad as Darren Tate - Venus. The voiceover really sounds like it's saying "you are my penis".

Flick back to around 2003, even 2002 for something thats Epic. Everything these days is rushed, little effort is put in or just complete shite.

I remember the first time my sister heard Polar - Venus Loverboy, she thought the sample was saying, "If you give me a foetus, I'll take it to Venus."

Then again, my sister has a way of hearing things that aren't really being said.

listen to some livesets in the 2000-2002 era and make your own mind up

I've still found good uplifting trance on independent music sites like soundclick. You may have to wade through some crap to find it though.

Everything on the second disc of this. Heck, Until Monday's even on it, and the tracks don't vary much from song to song. If you like hearing the same kind of thing over and over, you'll enjoy it.

Look for stuff pre-2003. Epic trance is dead, Ferry Corsten killed it(heck, he doesn't even make trance anymore).

Posted by Spirit5 on May-22-2006 04:15:

That's one huge list ********....it's best to give the guy like maybe 10...but that's like 80 or 100!

try astura's work (andy prinz)

either the remix for future funland or some of his originals:

i like Cassandra and Cassiopeia a lot!

then theres dj greenhead - crystal...good andy prinz track!

his popular orions belt track was solid as well

If I were to go by the examples the OP gave, he' slooking for more hard or tech trance sided stuff, but with trancey melodies.

Look for anything by Flutlicht or S.H.O.K.K. and also NU NRG, seeing as Guiseppe is one half of them

Would it be in poor taste to suggest some Future Breeze or Sunbeam? Back in the day I really got into DuMonde - Never Look Back. Many good memories surrounding that tune.

I wonder if there are at least ten in there which aren't mis-labeled.

Jesus, Ferry killed epic trance? And how? By shooting it to its head with his electrogun?

Posted by Zoso on May-22-2006 17:35:

_____ is dead, ______ killed it. It's just a series of blanks into which you can insert the genre and audience of your choice. It's better than a Fark cliche!
