graphics card help please?

Hi everyone..i just bought a ATI Radeon 9250*it was cheap..like 40 bucks lol* but anyways i have a question. I disabled my onboard graphics and enabled the card. It works fine and such..but when i reboot my computer..my screen is blank. I don't see my ''Emachines'' splash screen come up and the windows XP start up screen. I hear my comp load up..and then like a min and a half later..i see the blue screen that says welcome..and theres my desktop. Could anyone tell me whats the problem?..the only thing i can remember doing when i messed with the new card was update the drivers from the disc that came with the card and thats about it. I hope someone could help =(

first off, never install drivers that ship with your vid card, by the time that CD gets to you theyre already out of date. DL the latest ATI drivers and see if this helps.

my guess would be your card needs a certain VGA driver installed, however ive never seen a problem like this. its just a hunch.

and if none of that works, uninstall & re-install. the PC panacea

Either way, the signal is probably out of range. The resolution or the refresh rate is too high. I've had the same problem, but can't recall what I did to correct it.

Check your BIOS settings, see if there's anything relevant there (highly unlikely though). I doubt it's the drivers, since they load up w/ Windows, which shows up on the monitor.

Try rebooting w/o the vid.card (which it won't), then put it back in and try again.
