I don't really think this video took anything out of context. Personally, games are getting shittier by the day, and each new generation lowers the standard exponentialy. Its all the same crap, with prettier graphics, shittier controls, and completely unimaginative gameplay. Credit to Nintendo for at least trying something different.

Too pessimistic.
Plus, there are plenty of innovative and fun games being released. I can name a few off the top of my head right now: Katamari (games - Daimacy, We <3 and Me and My), God of War (took a familiar genre and improved upon it by giving amazing controls, awesome storyline, stunning soundtrack, etc...), Guitar Hero (even though Guitar Freaks has been out for a long time, this game really broke this type of game into the EU and US markets), Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
There are definitely lots more.

Yeah, but chances are you have been gaming for a while. Its definetely the truth that games are getting less original and less challenging. Thats not to say that every now and then we get a gem that blows the mind in creativity, or we get a game thats hard as fuck, but it just seems like everything is being 'simplified' to just good looking graphics and 'easy-playability'...tactics used probably to try and get more people to play video games.
