Iran has got the potential to go through this group. But they're going to have a tough time to knock out Portugal or Mexico.

Angola

lol don't count Mexico out so fast yet... They have put together an interesting squad and they have always been really tough when it comes to physical playing. Mexico vs. Portugal will be one hell of a match.

Breaking news!

The national team of Angola just beat in a training match some amateur german side by 5-3. Yep, five........THREE!

Ali Karimi top scorer of the world cup

Posted by Glenn-Holmes on May-27-2006 08:33:

mexico first portugal second - but they won't reach 9 points - at least portugal will lose points against one of the other teams in the group - probably iran

Bruno Vale is out of the world cup due to the injury on the Under-21 Euro match against Serbia A shame, cause he deserved this opportunity.

The federation have asked FIFA authorization for the replacement, Sporting Braga goalie Paulo Santos is taking Bruno's place.

Iran... I ran so far away.... I just ran... Iran all night and day...

Posted by noikeee on May-27-2006 16:16:

You can bet those ****s ran and will run. I'm worried about our match against them, they're exactly the kind of team that can totally fuck us up. No fame, tons of will.

Posted by zoric on May-27-2006 17:50:

I'm pretty sure Iran could make it out of this group, although that will happen if Portugal doesn't play well and fucks up against Angola or something..

4-1. 3 by Pauleta, 1 by Petit. A couple good goals, I recommend watching the highlights.

Positive game, altho worringly our defence was beaten several times in the first half and the midfield duo Petit-Maniche didn't seem to work at all. When Costinha entered the field things improved a lot, impressive since Costinha hasn't played for several months after some trouble with the Dinamo Moscow manager.

Deco and Pauleta are in nice form. Overall even if we probably had a better team in the last 2 euros and last world cup, this game reinforced my idea that we never had such a mentally strong squad, even when Cape Verde scored and was surprisingly pushing us the team remained calm. The only one to lose emotional control was Ronaldo, who kicked a guy and should have been sent off, not a good game by the Utd winger.

France-Mexico right now, I'd like to see how good the mexican team is atm but I have some work to do :\

I know, but I can't make the pun if I pronounce it properly

Besides, there was a thread in the Chill Out Room where someone accidentally wrote "iRan" and it stuck
