RJ, you're tempting me with those CDJs, but alas, I should not buy. That's next summer's investment.

Is RJ out of the business?

You must be very proud of yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back.

I'm not selling this for financial reasons. The unit has had a Pioneer factory service "tune-up" recently and has not been mis-used or abused. I challenge to find any CDJ-800 delivered to their door in such a condition for anything near $650 (tax included).

Check out Froogle: http://froogle.google.com/froogle_c...ARg&scoring=mrd

Add in exchange, shipping + customs duty + taxes (charged by customs!) and total cost is ~$800. Buy from any store in Canada and total cost is $800 + shipping + tax.

LMAO

rj, good luck selling, I can vouch for the superior quality care RJ takes with all his merchandise.

Ditto. I picked up my MK2's off Rj a few years ago, they work perfectly. I'm really eyeing the cdj but can't...saving up for other stuff.

Posted by failsafe on May-25-2006 06:25:

a cdj in excess of 2yrs old regardless of servicing and condition is overly expensive at $650. It's not like the dollar is at 0.60 or anything. Even with shipping and duty you

I'm not the only one that thinks that. Here's a link to someone trying to sell a cdj-1000 for a similar price with funds converted over, and he's taking flak for his price.

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=344907

Though I suppose if you're not willing to take a risk on someone from ebay or you don't want to pop the extra $150 for the mkII model with mp3 support and a warrantay then have at 'er.

(=

I can't wait to see what flavour of (not so) witty comment I get, seeing that I've already given myself a pat on the back earlier today.

i dont understand people coming into 'for sale' threads, and making complaints about the price. if the price itself is too high, and he cant sell it because of it, im sure he will lower it. personally, i'd be pretty fuckin pissed if people came in my for sale thread and more or less told people 'dont do it!'. let the people who are in the market for dj gear do the research themselves, and keep the negotiating of price to PM's.

and yes, RJ does infact baby his shit....

i only see one that's cheaper than RJ's - i highly doubt it's been remotely as well taken care of as his.. and there's still bidding for 2 more days.

i love how someone thinks to themselves "i'd never pay that much" so they assume it's a rip off. it's worth _whatever_ someone is willing to pay. every day someone spends more $$ on something than someone else believes it's worth - but you know what - it's worth it to them!

i would gladly buy it from RJ to save myself the hassle of dealing with someone i don't know & to ensure i get a quality product that has been well taken care of.

take your threadcrapping bs elsewhere.

the more expensive ones on ebay are all new.

its a message board... happens everywhere. People can post up their opinions if theyd like. Im not saying I agree with them haggling over this particular item but I dont think they are out of line.

Posted by Chris Allen on May-25-2006 17:05:

Comments like these are disgusting.

You'd be all up in a rage if someone came in and went against your opinion if you were trying to sell an item. Don't turn it around and say "I would sell it for a fair price." You have every right to sell an item for any amount of money at all. But nobody has to buy it. That is a personal decision.

If you aren't going to post something meaningful and helpful to the thread why even bother at all? This is one person's decision to sell equiptment and is offering TA's a chance to pick up some mint condition gear for a price he has decided upon. If you don't like the price, go elsewhere. Simple as that.

You already say you have gear. Well then why bash up a post of this nature?

Immature, meaningless, and disrespectful in nature. Quite innapropriate and not the right place to put it.

RJ best of luck on selling the equiptment. I'd be all for the CDJ if I had the cash, especially knowing how well you take care of your gear

how about we just make it an 'unwritten rule'.

its out of respect for the person selling the items.

because it is just a 'message board' doesn't make it okay. picture a guy in a dealership just about to sell a car, and some bonehead standing around eating free hotdogs pipes up 'DONT BUY IT MAN - MY BUDDY HAS THE SAME ONE FOR $1000 CHEAPER!!!'. same deal.

like i said earlier, if you have interest in something, but you want to negotiate the price..... do it via PM.

Posted by Euphorica on May-25-2006 17:24:

There comments werent that bad and they were pretty polite about it. You want crap, try other boards! really. I know where you guys are coming from as it is a pain in the butt sometimes but the proper buyer will know what is bs and what isnt so its just something ive come to expect in fs posts on the net (unless replies are disabled in forsale forums, and in some places it is like that to avoid stuff like this).

yet AGAIN. All that means is it is more difficult to find a used one to save some money.

the problem with this in FS/FT type threads/forums is generally the person posting has NO intention whatsoever of actually buying the item. If they did they would most likely contact the person privately to make an offer. the only reason these people are posting their opinion on the price is;
a) for whatever reason they feel it is their duty to "make sure nobody overpays" what are you - the price police "OMG I saw one for sale one time and it was $50 cheaper!!!! OMFG JOO IS GETTING RIPPED OFF"
b) they are jealous that when they sold their similar item they agreed to accept less money.
in fact this it's often a case of B followed by A.. "wait don't buy this - when i sold mine it only went for $xxx"

It has _nothing_ to do with whether he's being polite & _everything_ to do with that it's completely inappropriate. If he's not involved in the transaction what is his purpose to post crapping the price?
(HINT: see above a, b & b + a)

Posted by simms327 on May-25-2006 19:33:

wow - you all have not much to do eh?

sorry RJ - good luck selling the CDJ, if it is indeed babied, then a discerning buyer will enjoy it!

lesson learned for me.

Posted by MarkT on May-25-2006 20:10:

FWIW, I'd trust a well-known regular on here than some random on eBay...the DJM-500 I bought (from someone in this thread even) is problem free, over 1 year later.

RJ is a stand-up guy...if he says it's well maintained, it's well maintained...to me, at least, that's worth a bit of premium...particularly when you factor in free delivery + set-up w/demo.

but...to anyone expecting *no* critical feedback in a FS thread where the price does include a bit of a subjective premium...well, that's a wee tad naive...the joys of a messageboard

RJ, if you had two of those M3Ds, I'd seriously consider an offer
