go england!!

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on May-25-2006 10:21:

can someone explain to me how the fuck greece managed to win euro over spain, portugal, england, germany, holland, U12 girls luxembourg teams?

i think australia need to be careful next month of quick counter-attacking teams, but theyre playing fine soccer tnite. very aggressive without being silly. they could well be giant-killers.

no wonder youre not in the finals greece.

Tactical discipline. They do exactly what their German manager tells them, very well and the German 'efficiency' paid off.

Skoko!!

great goal

Posted by Aesthetic on May-25-2006 11:29:

yeah pkc.. greece has gotta have one of the worst teams.. i think me and soups could take them on honestly

Posted by eRRaTiK on May-25-2006 11:29:

the greek side that one the euro is a very different side to the one that's playing tonight. i posted an article about the fall from grace that greece had following the euro a while ago. i think it's on the fifa or world cup website. very interesting how dynamics can change within the space of 6-12 months.

Ghost Smilie

Though the second half was a little disappointing, they looked really good when they managed to hold the ball and string a few passes together

and SBS going off into the add break after the final whistle playing PVD-Buenaventura

rofl @ them playing stan laziridis.. what is next, john markovski? fuck.. laziridis is about as useless as tits on a bull.

yeah, i spose so. didnt see much of euro coz of lack of pay tv (i only caught the dutch & english games) but considering the squad was 9 players the same, i certainly expected more tnite.

australia were all over them in every department imo. the aussies should be well pleased with how they played. i know i was very impressed

Kinda wish I went, the atmosphere looked unreal-over 95,000 people. I had goosebumps lol! Cant wait for the World Cup to start! Its going to be too nerve-wrecking though

BEAUTIFUL goal by Skoko It was well set up!

Yeh the 2nd half was not as exciting as the 1st!

Erratik-so none of the Greek players who played tonight played in the Euro? If so how many played tonight?

geeeooooooorrrgggee clooooooooooooneey!

yeah nice one greece waste of $20
they didn't seem very inspiring, didn't seem to attack with as much gusto as australia, whenever australia went forward you could feel them having a go, whereas with greece it didn't seem the same... ah well... 95,103 people this is where being half and half pays off cause i can say w00t go the aussies

you know what shits me, reading one of the opinion pieces in todays Herald Sun-

=The oldies should "let it go" and stop ramming the old country's culture down their childrens throat.

MEANING PEOPLE WITH GREEK BACKGROUNDS SHOULDNT BE SUPPORTING GREECE.

I think many Greeks were supporting Oz as well, obviously, however why the fuck shouldnt they support the Greeks.

HELLO, ITS NOT THAT THE PARENTS ARE 'RAMMING' IT DOWN THEIR CHILDRENS THROAT, ITS WHO THEY ARE. ITS A PART OF THEIR IDENTITY, KNOWING ONES HISTORY & CULTURE SHAPES A PERSONS IDENTITY.

HOW FUCKING PATHETIC.

Killer goal by Skoko.

Few good chances by Sterjovski, Culina and Bresciano.

Let's hope Australia really TOUGHEN it up for the World Cup.
The boys have improved immensely.

A good win by the lads, we certainly looked good at times. Archie brings a lot of pace to the front line and I think with kewell back we could be pretty dangerous with dukes also holding down the centre half forward posy. Skokos goal looked like it was travelling in slow motion as we were right behind it, but after looking at the replay it certainly was a cracker..

Well done Paulie C for the 5 flares, that added excitement for the Greek Ppl whos National Team was so fuckn boring im glad I had my NAB blow up finger to keep me entertained while you guys had the ball.

4 schooners before the game I thought I could be in trouble today at work but no got home at 10 and snuggled straight into my dbl doona too friggin cold, but I am soft.

Onwards and upwards to Germany! Go Aussies!
