Diva Appreciation Thread

ok i know it's not "edm", but i love me some R&B diva songs...i can't help it.



let's talk about Christina Milian. she's so adorable and feminine and her voice is girly and sexy at the same time. i love her.

ashanti is another good one.


please dont post about beyonce. god i can't friggin stand watching her fat amazon ass shaking around on TV in some tacky ass outfit that looks like she made it herself.


but ok, i guess if you really DO like beyonce, feel free, although i have a feeling this thread will just die quickly anyway. i just wanted to show some love for christina milian.

shes a good actress and shes got nice legs.

dont care for the music one bit though.

ashanti sucks, she can't sing at the level of her competition and that's why she no longer has a career. I have friends who've gone to her concert, leaving in deep regret.

Personally, I've liked the less Diva-ish girls of R&B, like Brandy & Faith Hill. Heartbreak Hotel was a great track featuring whitney, faith hill, and that other woman i forgot her name but she's awesome in that song.


Christina Millian, yeah, her music is nice but her looks are better

no way. christina m. can totally sing. have u guys heard her new song, "say i" it's the cutest song ever and she can definitely hold a tune. i love how she can talk with a singing voice...i can't explain it.

ashanti isn't at the top, i agree, but i love her song "foolish".

oh yea, and of course mariah carey...i can't believe i forgot her. she always takes these breaks and then comes back and goes platinum like it's nothing. i love her too. i actually got her last album for valentine's day.

what doies that have anything to do with R&B

In R&B its abt originality. when u jack someones beats or u jack someones hooks or lines its called biting and is looked down upon in the world of r&B and hip hop. so thefact she released this bite as a the first hit off her album shows she and murder inc. are talentless losers

yea but she didnt just sample it...she took the whole song and sang over it. plus biggies version was much nicer

i think it's a little different when someone uses a song from biggie or tupac...they both were legends and died, so i dunno, i always thought of it as like showing respect by using the stuff they so brilliantly put out when they were alive.

btw this isnt the first time that label has bitten things from different artists. theyre actually well renowned for it. i mean when ur star artist is ja-Rule, the man known for biting the styles of DMX, tupac and a list oof other rappers what would u expect

i think thats bullshit. nobody does it. only jay-z rips a line hre and there and thats to big up biggie, who he was close firends with . no other artist ever redoes there songs. producers may take old songs and make remixes to them yes. but never rip em off

Off topic - Thank god I didn't buy tickets to the Depeche Angel tour. Sources say they did only 3 songs and left the stage, along with alot of stumbling over lyrics because they were forgotten. Have you went yet?

well i guess i like the words for that ashanti song and i also liked that biggie song, so it's only natural i liked it.


i love hip hop songs that feat. a diva.


a perfect example is the remix of mariah carey's "Shake you off" with Jay Z. and Young Jeezy. i've been playing that a lot in my car too.

wouldnt happen to be the kansas show would it? because the singer got sick and they had to cancel the show halfway through.

I went here in Toronto and had a blast. the pic in my sig is actually from it. it was probably the best concert ive been to so far.
