A clip would help. Unfamiliar artists for me.

If you used a synth with two ocs, u'll get the sound u're looking for.

Use subtractive synthesizers;

Osc 1;
*) Sine wave, octave 2, lp filter cutoff at arounnd 250hz

Osc 2
*) Square wave/Sawtooth wave, octave 2 or 3, hp filter cutoff at around 250hz

Then u can hook up an LFO to the overall amplitude (or lp frequency) to the synth. Of course you may use compressors and loudness maximisers, just make sure the sine wave's amplitude doesnt go over -24db on the low end of the sound spectrum (especially between 20hz and ~70hz)

Hope it helps!
